Invitation
May I hereby draw your attention to
the daily reading of the Gospel?
This invitation wishes to share with you the joy
of the Gospel. Everyone, no one excepted,
can experience that joy by opening their hearts
to the healing power of God’s word.
Available every day.
Consideration
The Lord Jesus is indignant at the behaviour of the disciples who reject the children bars. This shows his affection for the small and the little. His attitude is an invitation to identify with the child and his disposition. A child is simple, affectionate, generous, spontaneous and faithful. In the same way, Jesus says, we may know ourselves children of God.
FIRST READING James 5, 13-20
The fervent prayer of a righteous man accomplishes much
From the letter of the holy apostle James
Brothers and sisters,
Are any of you suffering?
Let him pray.
Is anyone in good spirits ?
Let him sing a song of praise.
Is anyone among you sick ?
Let him call the presbyters of the congregation ;
they should say a prayer over him
and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord.
And faithful prayer will save the sick person
and the Lord will raise him up.
And if he has committed sins
he will be forgiven.
Therefore confess your sins to one another and pray for one another
that ye may find healing.
The fervent prayer of a righteous man accomplishes much.
Elijah was a man similar to us.
He prayed urgently that it would not rain
and no rain fell on the land,
for three years and six months.
He prayed again,
and the heavens gave rain
and the land brought forth its fruit.
Brothers and sisters,
if anyone among you strays from the truth
and another brings him to repentance,
then know that he who converts a sinner from his astray,
will save his soul from death
and will cover numerous sins.
INTERLUDIUM Ps. 141(140), 1-2, 3, 8
Let my prayers to You rise like incense.
Lord, I call to You, please come and help me,
listen to my voice when I call to You.
Let my prayers to You rise like incense,
my raised hands be to You an evening sacrifice.
Set a sentinel at my mouth, O Lord,
watchmen at the city gate of my lips.
For to Thee, O Lord God, I turn my eyes,
To Thee do I flee, pledge not my life!
ALLELUIA John 15, 15b
Alleluia.
I have called you friends, says the Lord,
for I have told you everything
what I have heard from the Father.
Alleluia.
EVANGELY Mk. 10, 13-16
Whoever does not accept the Kingdom of God as a child will certainly not enter it.
From the holy Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ according to
Mark
In those days people brought children to Jesus
with the intention that He would touch them.
But bars the disciples rejected them.
When Jesus saw this, He said indignantly:
“Let those children come to Me anyway
And do not stop them.
For to those who are like them belongs the kingdom of God.
Verily, I say to you:
Whoever does not accept the Kingdom of God as a child ,
shall certainly not enter it.”
Thereupon He embraced them and blessed them
As He laid hands on them.

POPE FRANCISCUS
TO ALL PEOPLE
OF GOOD WILL
49. After several conferences with scant results and the disappointment of COP25 in Madrid (2019) , it was hoped that this inertia would be reversed at COP26 in Glasgow (2021). In effect, the result was to revive the Paris Agreement, which had been suspended due to the overall impact of the pandemic. Moreover, there was a plethora of “recommendations” whose actual impact was hardly foreseeable. Proposals aimed at ensuring a rapid and effective transition to alternative and less polluting forms of energy made no progress.
