The Lord is truly risen

Invitation

May I draw your attention to
the daily reading of the gospel
This invitation is designed to share with you the joy of the gospel.
of the gospel. Everyone, without exception
can experience this joy by opening his or her heart
to the healing power of the Word of God.
Available every day
Consideration
Paul arrives with his companions in Philippi, an important city and Roman colony. There he receives the hospitality of Lydia. Despite much opposition (see tomorrow), Paul has the best memories of Philippi. His letter to the Philippian congregation does not contain the usual, sometimes sharp reprimands (cf. 1 and 2 Cor.), but is full of appreciation and sympathy. Only from the Philippians did he want to receive monetary help in his distress.
FIRST READING                         Acts 16:11-15

The Lord makes the heart of a God-fearing woman receptive to Paul’s words.

From the Acts of the Apostles
We – Paul and Silas – departed from Troas
left Troas and went first to Samothrace,
the next day to Neapolis
and from there to Philippi,
a city in the first district of Macedonia and a colony.
There we stayed for several days.
On Saturday, we went out of the gate
to the riverbank, where we thought there was a place of worship.
We sat down
and addressed the women gathered there.
A certain Lydia also heard it
who came from the city of Tyatíra
and sold purple fabrics.
She was God-fearing
and the Lord made her heart receptive to what Paul was saying.
For what Paul said.
After she and her housemates were baptised, she invited us and told us she was baptised.
invited us and said to us
“If you think
I really believe in the Lord ,
then come to my house
. and settle in my house”.
And he strongly urged us to do so.
INTERLUDIUM                   Ps 149, 1-2, 3-4, 5-6a, 9b
Our Lord, who loves his people
Crowns the oppressed with victory.
O : Alleluia.
Sing to the Lord a new song,
His praise resounds in the midst of his people.
Israel applauds her Creator,
Let the sons of Zion salute their King.
Praise His name in a sacred dance,
Play the harp and the zither for Him.
For our Lord, who loves his people
crowns the oppressed with crowns of victory.
So rejoice, O saints, in your triumph,
celebrate in your military courts.
Go with the song of God in your mouths,
a task that honours His pious ones.
HALLELUYA
Alleluia.
Christ has risen from the grave,
Who died for us on a cross.
Alleluia.
GOSPEL                             John 15:26-16, 4a

The Spirit of truth will testify of Me.

From the holy gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ according to
John
At that time, Jesus said to his disciples:
“When the Comforter comes
whom I will send to you from the Father ,
the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, he will testify of me,
he will testify of me.
“But you too must bear witness ,
for you have been with me from the beginning.
“This I have told you, lest you lose heart.
“You will be expelled from the synagogue.
“Yes, a time will come
when everyone who kills you will think
an act of worship to God.
“They will do so
because they have recognised neither the Father nor Me.
“This I have told you
so that when the time comes
you would remember that I told you.”

OF GOOD WILL
30. It suffices to think of the momentary intoxication caused by the money received
in exchange for dumping nuclear waste in a certain place. The house one could have bought with that
money was turned into a grave by the diseases released at that time.
I am not saying this out of wild imagination, but based on something we have seen.
One can say that this is an extreme example, but in these
cases, it is not possible to speak of “minor” damage, because it is precisely the
accumulation of harm that is deemed permissible, which is why we have ended up in the situation we find ourselves in today.
