Sunday – H. Trinity

Trinity means that the one God includes three persons.

Invitation

May I hereby draw your attention to
the daily reading of the Gospel?

This invitation wants to share with You the joy
of the Gospel. Everyone, no one excepted,
can experience that joy by opening their hearts
to the healing power of God’s word.

Available every day

Opening word

When we make the sign of the cross ,
it is more than a natural habit.
To sign ourselves with God’s Name
is to profess God
as Father, who cares for all life;
as Son of Man who invites us
to take on his Gospel;
as Spirit, who encourages us to trust
in his abiding presence.
The core of our faith is expressed
in the unfathomably rich Name of God.
this we may gratefully celebrate and remember
on the high feast of the Holy Trinity.

FIRST READING              Deut. 4, 32-34,39-40

The Lord is God in heaven above and on earth below; there is no other.

From the book of Deuteronomy

Moses spoke to the people and said:

“Go after the ancient times that have preceded you
from the day God created people on the earth.
“Just look from one end of heaven to the other :
Has anything so great ever happened
or has anything like this ever been heard?
“Did the people ever hear a god speak out of the fire like you ,
and thereby preserved life?
“Or has ever a god attempted
from another people to come and choose thee by tribulations,
by signs and wonders,
by wars, with strong hand and raised arm,
by great, terrifying deeds,
such as the Lord your God
performed before your eyes in Egypt?

“Recognise then this day and imprint it in your hearts:
the Lord is God
in heaven above and on earth below;
there is no other.
“Keep his precepts and commandments which I give you this day.
“Then you and your children shall be happy and live long
on the ground which the Lord your God grants you forever.”

Responsorial                 Ps 33(32), 4-5, 6 and 9, 18-19, 20 and 22

Refrain
Blessed are the people who have the Lord as God.

Sincere is the word of the Lord
and all He does is trustworthy.
Law and justice He loves,
the earth is full of His mildness.

The word of the Lord made the heavens,
the spirit from His mouth created the heavenly powers.
For He spoke a word and everything came into being,
He commanded and it came forth.

The eye of the Lord rests on those who fear Him,
who count on His mercy;
That He will snatch them from death,
feed them in times of famine.

We put all our hope in the Lord,
He is our help and our shield.
Let your mercy, Lord, descend upon us
As our trust goes out to You.

SECOND READING                        Rom. 8, 14-17

Thou hast received the spirit of childbearing which makes us cry, “Abba, Father!”

From the holy apostle Paul’s letter to the Christians of
Rome

Brothers and sisters,

All those who are guided by the Spirit of God,
are children of God.
The spirit which ye have received is not one of slavery
that would cause you to fear again.
Thou hast received the spirit of childhood
Which makes us cry out:
“Abba, Father!”
The Spirit himself confirms the testimony of our spirit
that we are children of God.
But if we are children ,
then we are also heirs,
and indeed heirs of God, together with Christ,
since we share in his sufferings in order also to share in his glorification.

Verse for the gospel             Cf. Apok. 1, 8

Alleluia.
Glory to the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit,
God who is, who was and who is to come.
Alleluia.

GOSPEL                  Mt 28, 16-20

Baptise them in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.

From the Holy Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ according to
Matthew

The eleven disciples made their way to Galilee,
to the mountain that Jesus had pointed out to them.
When they saw Him,
they threw themselves down in worship;
Some, however, doubted.

Jesus approached and spoke to them:
“To Me is given all power in heaven and on earth.
“Go therefore
and make all nations my disciples, baptising them
in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
and teach them
to observe all that I have commanded you.
“Behold, I am with you ,
all the days,
until the consummation of the world.”

APOSTOLIC EXHORTATION LAUDATE DEUM

FROM THE HOLY FATHER
POPE FRANCISCUS

TO ALL PEOPLE
OF GOOD WILL

50. COP27 in Sharm El Sheikh (2022) was threatened from the start by the situation that had been
created by the invasion of Ukraine, which caused a significant economic and energy crisis
caused. Carbon consumption was increasing and everyone was trying to have sufficient
supplies. Developing countries considered access to energy and the
prospects for development as an urgent priority. People openly acknowledged the fact that
fossil fuels still provide 80% of the world’s energy, and that their use
of them continues to increase.
