Invitation

May I draw your attention to
The daily reading of the Gospel

This invitation seeks to convey the joy
of the Gospel. Everyone, without exception
can experience that joy by opening his or her heart
to the healing power of the Word of God.

Available every day

Consideration
As brothers and sisters of one another
we come together in unity in this house.
We open our hearts to the Word of the Lord
and gather around his Table.
We leave all discord and division behind.
In this hour we long to be one with the Lord
and we pray for unity among the nations.
The Lord himself renews our inner life
and makes us a sign of unity
and bearers of peace and reconciliation.

FIRST READING                 Gen 3:9-15

I will put enmity between your offspring and the offspring of the woman.

From the book of Genesis

After Adam had eaten from the tree
the Lord God called the man and asked him, “Where are you?

He replied:
“I heard you thundering in the garden
and then I became afraid, for I am naked;
and I hid myself.

But the Lord God said:
“Who told you that you are naked?
“Have you ever eaten from the tree that I have forbidden you?”.

The man replied:
“The woman you gave me as a companion ,
she gave me from that tree
and so I ate”.

Then the Lord God asked the woman:
“How could you have done that?”

The woman replied:
“The serpent tempted me and I ate.”

The Lord God then said to the serpent:
“Because you did this, you are cursed
among all domestic animals and among all wild animals.
“On your belly you shall crawl and eat dust all the days of your life,
all the days of your life.
“I will put enmity between you and the woman,
between your offspring and her offspring.
“She will threaten your head
and her heel will threaten you.

Responsorial           Psalm 130(129), 1-2, 3-4, 5-6ab, 7-8

Refrain
The Lord is always merciful
His mercy knows no bounds.

From the depths I cry out, O Lord
hear my voice.
Listen attentively
To my supplication.

If you continue to remember sins,
Lord, who will resist?
But in You I find forgiveness,
Therefore my heart seeks You.

In the Lord I place my hope,
In His Word I trust.
Eagerly I wait for Him
More than watchmen on the morrow.

For the Lord is ever merciful,
His mercy is boundless.
He will deliver Israel
From their iniquity.

SECOND READING                          2 Cor 4:13-5:1

We believe and therefore we speak.

From the holy apostle Paul’s second letter to the Christians in Corinth.

Brothers and sisters,

We possess that spirit of faith of which Scripture says:
“I have believed ,
therefore I have spoken”.
We also believe and therefore we speak.
For we know
that the One who raised the Lord Jesus from the dead
will also raise us as He raised up Jesus
To bring us to Him together with you.
Because everything happens through you
Grace must be multiplied in many
so that more and more people give thanks to God
to the honour of His name.

We do not give up.
Even though we descend to the outer man
our inner life is renewed day by day.
The light torment of a moment
gives us a fullness of glory
and eternal fullness of glory.
We keep our gaze focused
not on the visible
but on the invisible;
What we see passes away,
the invisible remains forever.

For we know
when the tent that is our earthly dwelling will be torn down,
God has prepared for us a building in heaven,
an eternal house, not made by human hands.

Gospel verse             John 12, 31b-32

Alleluia.
The prince of this world has already been cast out
says the Lord,
And when I am lifted up from the earth,
I will draw all men unto me.
Alleluia.

GOSPEL                       Mk 3, 20-35

The end of Satan has come.

From the Holy Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ according to
Mark

At that moment Jesus went home
and again so many people were gathered
that they did not even have a chance to eat.
When his relatives heard this
set out to take him away,
for they said he had lost his mind.
The scribes who had come from Jerusalem ,
said that Beelzebub dwelt in him
and that He was casting out demons through the prince of demons.
cast out demons.

Jesus called them and spoke to them in parables:
“How can one Satan cast out another?
“When a kingdom is inwardly divided ,
that kingdom cannot stand.
“When a house is inwardly divided ,
that house cannot stand.
“And when Satan is divided against himself, he cannot stand,
he cannot stand, but his end has come.
“Moreover,
no one can enter the house of a strong man
to steal his goods
unless he has first bound him.
“Only then can he empty his house.
“Truly, I say to you
all sins will be forgiven people,
even all the blasphemies they have uttered,
“but if anyone blasphemes against the Holy Spirit,
he will not be forgiven in eternity;
he is charged with an eternal sin”.
This because they had said:
“An unclean spirit dwells in Him”.

Once his mother and his brothers came,
and while they remained outside,
they sent someone to call him.
There were many people around him, who conveyed the message to him:
“Your mother and your brothers standing outside are asking for you.”

He answered them
“Who is my mother?
Who are my brothers?
And as he lifted his gaze
over the people sitting in a circle around him, he said:
“See my mother and my brothers.
For my brother, my sister and my mother are those who do God’s will.
Who do the will of God.

APOSTOLIC EXHORTATION LAUDATE DEUM

OF THE HOLY FATHER
PAUS FRANCISCO

TO ALL PEOPLE
OF GOOD WILL

64. Jesus “was able to invite others to pay attention to the beauty of the world because he himself was in constant contact with nature and gave it a special attraction”.
because he himself was in constant contact with nature and gave it a special attraction full of affection and wonder.
attraction full of affection and wonder. As he travelled through the country
he often dwelt on the beauty his Father had sown,
and invited his disciples to see in things a divine message.”
To be continued.
