Invitation
May I draw your attention to
the daily reading of the Gospel
This invitation wants to share with you the joy
of the Gospel. Everyone, without exception
can experience that joy by opening his or her heart
to the healing power of God’s word.
Available every day
Opening word
Our world comes and goes
on the waves of life and time.
Sometimes we experience strength, sometimes discouragement.
However, in the storms of our life we are not alone.
After all, Christ is the steadfast anchor of our salvation.
Like a good shepherd, He speaks to us
and pulls us out of the water.
Today, on Vocation Sunday, we ask God
that we say “yes” to his call
to be sowers of hope in the lives of many
and in a world in search of perspective.
FIRST READING Acts 13, 14.43-52
From now on we turn to the Gentiles.
In those days Paul and Barnabas journeyed
past Perga to Antioch in Pisidia,
where they entered the synagogue on the Sabbath.
At the end of the synagogue service
many God-fearing Jews and proselytes walked with Paul and Barnabas
with Paul and Barnabas;
he addressed them and exhorted them to persevere in the grace of God
to persevere in the grace of God.
The following Sabbath almost the whole city gathered
to hear the word of God.
At the sight of the great crowd
the Jews became very envious
and responded to Paul’s exposition
with mockery.
Then Paul and Barnabas boldly declared:
“To you, though the word of God had to be spoken first ,
but because you reject it
and do not consider yourselves worthy of eternal life,
therefore from now on we address the Gentiles.
For so the Lord commands us:
I have appointed you as a light to the Gentiles,
that you may bring salvation
to the ends of the earth
When the Gentiles heard this, they rejoiced and glorified the word of God,
and all those who were destined for eternal life
accepted the faith.
The word of the Lord spread throughout that region,
but the Jews incited the God-fearing women
who came from the ruling circles, as well as the leading citizens of the city;
they provoked a persecution against Paul and Barnabas
and drove them out of their region.
They shook off the dust from their feet as a sign that they had broken with them
and went to Ikonium.
The disciples, however, were filled with joy and with the Holy Spirit
and of the Holy Spirit.
Response Psalm 100(99), 2, 3, 5
We are his flock and his people.
Rejoice before the Lord, all you nations,
serve the Lord with joy,
tread before his face with rejoicing.
Truly, the Lord is God,
He is the Creator and the Master,
we are his flock, his people.
He is good to us,
infinite is his mercy,
his faithfulness from generation to generation.
SECOND READING Apok. 7, 9.14b-17
The Lamb will feed them and lead them to the fountains of life.
I, John, saw a great multitude, which no one could number,
from every race and tribe and people and tongue.
They were standing before the throne and before the Lamb,
clothed in white robes and holding palm branches.
Then one of the elders said to me:
“These are the ones coming out of the great tribulation ,
who have washed their white robes
in the blood of the Lamb.
Therefore they stand before the throne of God
and serve him day and night in his temple,
and he who sits on the throne
will spread his tent over them.
They will never hunger or thirst again,
no sunburn or desert brightness shall afflict them,
for the Lamb in the midst of the throne
will feed them and lead them to the fountains of life, and God will wipe away all tears
and God will wipe away every tear from their eyes”
Gospel Verse John 10, 14
Alleluia.
I am the Good Shepherd, says the Lord.
I know my own and my own know me.
Alleluia
GOSPEL John 10:27-30
I give my sheep eternal life.
At that time, Jesus said to his disciples:
“My sheep hear my voice
and I know them
and they follow me.
I give them eternal life;
and no one shall take them from me.
For my Father, who gave them to me
is greater than all
and no one can steal anything from My Father’s hand.
I and the Father, We are one”

Encyclical of
POPE FRANCISCO
On fraternity and social friendship
274. Drawing on the experience of our faith and the wisdom accumulated over the centuries,
but also learning from our many weaknesses and our falls,
believers of the various
religions that making God present is a good thing for our society.
Seeking God with a sincere heart helps us, as long as we do not obscure him with our
ideological or instrumental interests,
to recognise each other as fellow travellers, as fellow human beings
to recognise each other as fellow travellers, as true brothers and sisters. We believe that
“when, in the name of an ideology, the aim is
to expel God from society, one ends up worshipping idols and
man loses himself, his dignity is trampled upon, his rights are violated.
You know well what atrocities the deprivation of freedom
of conscience and religious freedom can lead to, and how through this wound a radically emasculated humanity
creates a radically impoverished humanity, because it is deprived of
hope and idealistic references”.
