Me permito llamar su atención sobre
la lectura diaria del Evangelio

Consideracion

Isaías es el profeta del monoteísmo más radical. Aparece en Babilonia, la tierra de los adoradores de las estrellas que adoran los cuerpos celestes como dioses. Reconocemos pensamientos del libro de Job. No hay nada con lo que comparar a este Dios. Está por encima de todo y -el mayor milagro de todos- tan cerca de la gente necesitada. Qué maravillosa respuesta es entonces el Evangelio. Una oración que sale espontáneamente de nuestros corazones.

PRIMERA LECTURA        Isaías 40,25-31
El Señor todopoderoso da fuerza a los que están cansados.

Del profeta Isaías

¿Con quién me comparáis?
con quién me igualáis’, pregunta el Todopoderoso.
Levantad los ojos y mirad con atención;
¿Quién ha creado todo esto?
¿Quién hace que los cuerpos celestes salgan en plenitud?
¿Quién los llama a todos por su nombre?
Es tan poderoso y fuerte
que no falta ni uno en la lista?
¿Cómo, pues, puedes decir, Jacob,
¿Cómo puedes afirmar, Israel,
que tus caminos están ocultos al SEÑOR,
¿que tu derecho escapa a Dios?
Entonces no sabes,
nunca has oído,
que el SEÑOR es un Dios eterno
y Creador de toda la tierra,
que no se cansa, no conoce el cansancio,
y que Su sabiduría es insondable?
A los que están cansados, Él les da fuerzas,
a los que no tienen resistencia, Él les da abundante energía.

Los derechos de los pueblos

124. La certeza del destino común de los
bienes de la tierra exige hoy que esto se aplique también a las
naciones, sus territorios y sus recursos. Si no lo consideramos sólo
desde la legitimidad de la propiedad privada y los derechos de los ciudadanos
de una nación determinada, sino también desde el primer principio del
destino común de la propiedad, entonces podemos decir
que toda tierra pertenece también al extranjero, porque los bienes de un
territorio no pueden ser negados a un indigente que viene de otro
lugar. Por último, como han enseñado los obispos de los Estados Unidos,
hay derechos fundamentales que «preceden a toda sociedad ,
porque derivan de la dignidad conferida a todo ser humano como
criatura concedida por Dios».

Consideration

Isaiah is the prophet of the most radical monotheism. He appears in Babylon, the land of star-worshippers who worship celestial bodies as gods. We recognise thoughts from the book of Job. There is nothing to compare this God with. He is above all and everything and – the greatest miracle of all – so near to those in need. What a wonderful response then is the gospel. A prayer that comes spontaneously from our hearts.

FIRST READING             Isa 40:25-31
The Lord Almighty grants strength to those who are weary.

From the prophet Isaiah

‘To whom will ye compare Me ,
with whom equate Me,’ asks the Almighty.
‘Cast your eyes upward and look carefully ;
Who created all this?
Who makes the heavenly bodies go out in full ,
who calls them all by name,
is so mighty and strong
That not one is missing from the roll call?
How then can ye say, Jacob,
how canst thou claim, Israel,
that thy ways are hidden from the LORD,
that thy right would escape God?
Knowest thou then not,
hast thou then never heard,
that the LORD is an everlasting God,
and creator of all the face of the earth,
that He does not tire, knows no exhaustion,
and that His wisdom is unfathomable?
To those who are weary, He grants strength,

Rights of peoples

124. The certainty of the common destiny of the
goods of the earth today demands that it also be applied to the
nations, their territories and their resources. If we look at it not only
from the legitimacy of private property and the rights of the citizens
of a given nation, but also from the first principle of the
common destiny of property, then we can say
that every country also belongs to the foreigner, since the goods of a
territory cannot be denied to a needy person who comes from another
place. After all, as the bishops of the United States have
taught, there are fundamental rights that ‘precede every society ,
because they derive from the dignity granted to every human being as a
creature granted by God’.

H. María de Loreto
La «Santa Casa» -que, según una crónica de 1465, en la noche del 9 al 10 de diciembre de 1294
se hallaba en la colina donde hoy se levanta- está en el origen de la devoción mariana en el santuario de Loreto.
La devoción mariana en el santuario de Loreto, que celebra la memoria del misterio de la
la Encarnación y el ejemplo evangélico de la Sagrada Familia de Nazaret.
Muchos papas han dedicado atención pastoral al santuario de la Virgen de Loreto, que fue
fue declarada patrona de los peregrinos por Benedicto XV. Las letanías de
Loreto ha circulado por toda la Iglesia.

Dios consuela a su pueblo

¿no dejará
no dejará a las noventa y nueve solas en el monte
para ir a buscar a la oveja perdida?
Y si logra encontrarla, en verdad os digo..,
se alegrará más por ella
que por las noventa y nueve que no se habían perdido.
Del mismo modo, vuestro Padre celestial no quiere
que se pierda ninguno de estos pequeños.

123. «La iniciativa empresarial es» verdaderamente »una vocación noble, destinada a
producir riqueza y mejorar el mundo para todos».
Dios nos apoya, espera que desarrollemos las capacidades que
Él nos ha dado y ha llenado el universo
de posibilidades. En Sus planes, cada ser humano está llamado a promover su propio desarrollo
y esto incluye la aplicación de
oportunidades económicas y tecnológicas para aumentar los bienes
y riqueza. En cualquier caso, estas
capacidades de los empresarios, que son un don de Dios, claramente
deben estar orientadas al progreso de otras personas y a la superación
de las carencias, especialmente a través de la creación de
oportunidades de trabajo diversificadas. Junto con el derecho
a la propiedad privada el derecho prioritario y previo de la subordinación
de toda propiedad privada al destino universal de
los bienes de la tierra y, por tanto, el derecho de todos al
uso de los mismos.

Consideration

H. Virgin Mary of Loretohronicle, on the night of 9-10 December 1294
was found on the hill where it stands today – stands at the origin of

Consideración

En torno a la Navidad hay una serie de fiestas en las que se celebra a María. Pero ella nunca está sola: lleva al Niño para mostrarlo al mundo. Esa es la verdadera imagen de María; el icono de la Madre con el Niño. El Señor vivo, el Hijo de Dios que se ha hecho hombre, no puede prescindir de una madre. Este tiempo nos invita a prepararnos para la venida de Jesús. Desde ahora hasta febrero, se trata de los dos una y otra vez. Hoy, la Iglesia celebra que María fue dotada por Dios, salvaguardada de todo mal. La fiesta de hoy trata del comienzo: se recibe a un niño, que es uno y todo sí, dirigido a Dios. Entra en el mundo una niña que nunca dirá no, ni a Dios ni a los hombres. Incluso antes de vivir en el vientre de su madre, la gracia de Dios ya la había liberado de todo posible «no». Por eso, también nosotros podemos llenarnos de alegría: Él nos lo ha dado todo.

122. El desarrollo no debe tender al enriquecimiento creciente
de unos pocos, sino que debe «garantizar los derechos personales y sociales, económicos y políticos
incluidos los derechos de las naciones
y de los pueblos». El derecho de unos pocos a la libertad de empresa o al
libre mercado no puede primar sobre los derechos de los pueblos y la dignidad de los
de los pobres; ni por encima del respeto al medio ambiente, porque,
«si alguien posee alguna parte de él, es sólo para gestionarlo

Consideration

Around Christmas lies a string of feasts where Mary is celebrated. But she is never alone: she carries the Child to show him to the world. That is the real image of Mary; the icon of the Mother with the Child. The living Lord, God’s Son who became man, cannot do without a mother. This time invites us to prepare for Jesus’ coming. From now until February, it’s about both of them again and again. Today, the Church celebrates that Mary was gifted by God, safeguarded from all evil. Today’s feast is about the very beginning: A child is received, who is one and all yes, addressed to God. A girl enters the world who will never say no, not to God and not to men. Even before she lived in her mother’s womb, God’s grace had already freed her from every possible ‘no’. Therefore, we too may be filled with joy: He has given us everything.

On brotherhood and social friendship

122. Development should not aim at the increasing enrichment
of the few, but must ‘guarantee personal and social, economic and political
guarantee human rights, including the rights of nations
and peoples’. The right of the few to freedom of enterprise or the
free market cannot take precedence over the rights of peoples and the dignity
of the poor; nor above respect for the environment, because,
‘if anyone owns any part of it, it is only to manage it
for the benefit of all’.

De tweede kaars op de adventskrans brandt.
Met die tweede kaars komt een grote profeet aan het woord:
Johannes de Doper.
Hij wil ons warm maken voor de komst van Jezus.
Maar tegelijk zegt hij: bekeer je.
Zo maakt hij reeds concreter
waartoe wij allen in deze adventstijd opgeroepen worden.
De komende weken zal het licht op de adventskrans nog groeien.
Moge er ook in ons leven meer ruimte komen
en een sterker uitzien naar het ware Licht.

EERSTE LEZING                    Bar. 5, 1-9

God toont zijn glorie in u.

Uit de profeet Baruch

Jeruzalem, leg uw kleed van  rouw  en ellende af
en bekleed u voor immer met Gods heerlijke schoonheid.
Sla de mantel van Gods gerechtigheid om,
zet op uw hoofd de schitterende kroon van de Eeuwige.
Want God wil uw luister laten zien overal op aarde.
Voor eeuwig geeft God u de naam:
“Vrede door gerechtigheid” en “Glorie door vroomheid”.

Op, Jeruzalem, ga op de hoogte staan en kijk uit naar het oosten:
daar zijn uw kinderen weer samen
op het woord van de Heilige,
van zonsopgang tot zonsondergang.

Over broederschap en sociale vriendschap

121. Niemand mag dus uitgesloten blijven ongeacht waar ze zijn geboren,
en nog minder vanwege de voorrechten die anderen genoten, omdat ze
geboren zijn op plaatsen waar grotere mogelijkheden zijn. Grenzen en
scheidslijnen van de staten mogen niet verhinderen dat dit gebeurt. Net
zoals het onaanvaardbaar is dat iemand minder rechten heeft op grond
van het feit dat zij vrouw is, is het evenzeer onaanvaardbaar dat de
geboorteplaats of woonplaats reeds op zich leidt tot minder mogelijkheden
voor een waardig leven en voor ontwikkeling.

La segunda vela de la corona de Adviento está encendida.
Con esa segunda vela, un gran profeta viene a hablar:
Juan el Bautista.
Quiere prepararnos para la venida de Jesús.
Pero al mismo tiempo nos dice: arrepentíos.
Así ya hace más concreto
a lo que todos estamos llamados en este tiempo de Adviento.
En las próximas semanas, la luz de la corona de Adviento seguirá creciendo.
Que también haya más espacio en nuestras vidas
y una mirada más fuerte hacia la verdadera Luz.

Dios muestra su gloria en ti

Del profeta Baruc

Jerusalén, despojate de tu vestido de luto y miseria
y revístete para siempre de la gloriosa belleza de Dios.

121. Por tanto, nadie debe quedar excluido, independientemente del lugar donde haya nacido,
y menos aún por los privilegios que otros disfrutaron por haber
nacido en lugares de mayores oportunidades. Las fronteras y
divisiones de los Estados no deberían impedirlo. Sólo
como es inaceptable que alguien tenga menos derechos por la
virtud de ser mujer, es igualmente inaceptable que el
lugar de nacimiento o residencia conlleve por sí mismo menos oportunidades
para una vida digna y para el desarrollo.

Opening word

The second candle on the Advent wreath is burning.
With that second candle, a great prophet comes to speak:
John the Baptist.
He wants to warm us up to the coming of Jesus.
But at the same time he says: repent.
Thus he already makes more concrete
what we are all called to in this Advent season.
In the coming weeks, the light on the Advent wreath will continue to grow.
May there also be more room in our lives
and a stronger looking forward to the true Light.

FIRST READING                     Bar. 5, 1-9
God shows his glory in you.

From the prophet Baruch

Jerusalem, lay aside your garment of mourning and misery
and clothe yourself forever with God’s glorious beauty.
Put on the mantle of God’s righteousness,
put on thy head the glittering crown of the Eternal.
For God wants to show your splendour everywhere on earth.
Forever God gives you the name:
‘Peace through righteousness’ and “Glory through piety”.

121. No one should therefore remain excluded regardless of where they were born,
and still less because of the privileges others enjoyed because they
were born in places of greater opportunity. Boundaries and
divisions of states should not prevent this from happening.
Just as it is unacceptable for someone to have fewer rights on the grounds
virtue of being a woman, it is equally unacceptable that the
place of birth or residence in itself leads to fewer opportunities
for a dignified life and for development.

Overweging
De leerlingen worden gezonden om de komst van het rijk Gods aan te kondigen en om zieken te genezen. Met de komst van het hemels koninkrijk breekt het licht van de waarheid door, die mensen bevrijdt uit de dwaling. Precies omdat zij bevrijd worden, zullen zij in staat zijn om te wandelen in dat licht. De Heer brengt troost, bemoediging en hoop. Niemand klopt immers ooit vergeefs bij Hem aan. Wij evenmin – wie van ons is niet gekwetst?

EERSTE LEZING                    Jes. 30, 19-21. 23-26
De Heer zal genadig zijn voor wie tot Hem roept.

Zo spreekt de HEER,
de heilige God van Israël:

“Volk van Sion dat in Jeruzalem woont,
gij zult niet langer wenen:
De HEER zal u genadig zijn,
zodra Hij uw geweeklaag hoort;
Hij zal u antwoorden,
zodra Hij uw geroep verneemt.
Hij zal u het brood der verdrukking schenken
en het water der nood.

zal voedzaam zijn en overvloedig.
Op die dag zullen uw kudden grazen op onafzienbare weiden.
En de ossen en de ezels die uw land beploegen
zullen veevoer vreten met zout vermengd
en met wan en gaffel gezuiverd.
Van alle hoge bergen en alle hoge heuvels
zal het water in beken naar beneden stromen,
op de dag van de grote slachting,
de dag dat de vestingen vallen.
Dan zal het licht van de maan zijn als het licht van de zon,
en het licht van de zon zal zeven keer zo sterk zijn
op de dag dat de HEER de wonden van zijn volk verbindt
en Hij de striemen geneest die Hij geslagen heeft.”

Gelukkig allen die de Heer verwachten (Jes. 30, 18).

Prijst nu de Heer, het is goed Hem te loven,
bezingt onze God, alle lof komt Hem toe.
De Heer bouwt de stad Jeruzalem op,
verzamelt Israël uit de verstrooiing.

Gebroken harten geneest Hij weer,
Hij heelt alle bloedende wonden.
Hij die het getal van de sterren kent
en elk van hen roept bij zijn naam ;

Verheven is Hij, onze Heer, en almachtig,
zijn wijsheid is onbegrensd.
De Heer verheft de vernederden
maar zondaars werpt Hij ter aarde.
