May I hereby draw your attention to the daily reading of the Gospel?
This invitation wants to share with you the joy of the Gospel. Everyone, no one excepted, can experience this joy by opening his heart to the healing effect of God’s word.

Consideration To keep us on our feet and persevere, we have to do the same as people walking on ice. They hold each other by the hand, or support each other under the arm. If someone slips, the other will keep him from falling, and vice versa, each will support the other when he is in danger of slipping. Our time on earth is like walking on ice, because every time there are opportunities to wobble and fall. From the Second Book of Samuel In those days all the tribes of Israel went to David in Hebron and said : “Here we are, your own flesh and blood. “Before, when Saul ruled over us, you were the one who led the troops of Israel. “Moreover, the Lord has assured you : Thou shalt pasture my people Israel : It is you who will rule over Israel.” All the elders of Israel came to the king in Hebron and King David made a covenant with them there before the Lord ; they anointed David king over Israel. David was thirty years old when he became king and he reigned for forty years. In Hebron he reigned over Judah seven years and six months and in Jerusalem thirty-three years over all Israel and Judah. The king and his men went up to Jerusalem against the Jebusites, the inhabitants of the region. They called out to David: “You will not enter here! “Indeed, the blind and lame will stop you.” They meant : David will never enter here. Yet David conquered the fortress of Zion, the Davidic city. IV – Politics and economics in dialogue for the full development of mankind
189. Politics must not submit to economics, which must not submit to the rules and efficiency-oriented paradigm of technocracy. Today, when we think of the common good, we inevitably need politics and economics to work together in dialogue and in a decisive manner in the service of life, especially human life. Bailing out the banks at all costs, and making the people pay the price without the unwavering determination to review and reform the entire system, once again establishes an absolute power of money that has no future and will only be able to create new crises after a long, costly and seemingly carefree period. The financial crisis of 2007-2008 was an opportunity to develop a new economy that pays more attention to ethical principles, and for a new regulation of speculative financial activity and virtual wealth. But there has been no reaction that has led to a rethink of the obsolete criteria that continue to govern the world. Production is not always rational and is often linked to economic variables that give products a value that does not always correspond to their real value. This often results in the overproduction of some goods with a not necessarily environmental impact, which at the same time harms many regional economies. A financial bubble is usually also a production bubble. What is not dealt with decisively is ultimately the problem of the real economy, which allows production to be diversified and improved, businesses to function properly, small and medium-sized enterprises to develop and create jobs, and so on.
