Me permito llamar su atención sobre
la lectura diaria del Evangelio

Esta invitación quiere compartir contigo la alegría
del Evangelio. Todos, sin excepción,
puede experimentar esa alegría abriendo su corazón
al poder sanador de la palabra de Dios.

Consideración
Todos intuimos lo que quiere decir Pablo cuando afirma:. Ni siquiera sabemos cómo debemos orar. A menudo nuestro corazón se siente estéril y cansado; no encontramos palabras; no acabamos de comprender dónde reside exactamente la alegría de rezar al Señor. Todos los grandes maestros de espiritualidad describen esta condición. El buscador llega a un punto en el que, abatido y desganado, baja los brazos. En ese nadir, el Espíritu de Dios viene en nuestra ayuda: nos abre, libera en nuestro corazón el grito de Dios que creemos buscar infructuosamente. Ése es el momento en que Dios nos hace saber que no está lejos en absoluto; que no está ausente cuando le buscamos; que no nos da la espalda cuando le suplicamos que nos libere de nuestras limitaciones e imperfecciones.

PRIMERA LECTURA                Rom 8,26-30
Dios promueve en todas las cosas la salvación de los que le aman.

Hermanos y hermanas,

El Espíritu viene en ayuda de nuestra debilidad.
Pues ni siquiera nosotros sabemos cómo debemos orar
pero el Espíritu mismo intercede por nosotros
con gemidos indecibles.
Y el que escruta los corazones
sabe lo que persigue el Espíritu
pues Él suplica por los santos según la intención de Dios.
Mientras tanto, sabemos
que Dios promueve en todo la salvación de los que le aman,

y entonces si empezáis a llamar a la puerta de fuera

él te responderá : No sé de dónde has venido.

y en nuestras calles has enseñado.

168. Entre las experiencias positivas, por ejemplo, el Convenio de
Basilea sobre residuos peligrosos, con un sistema de notificación, niveles establecidos y controles, así como el Convenio obligatorio sobre el
comercio internacional de especies de fauna y flora silvestres en peligro de extinción, que prevé el envío de delegaciones para supervisar una
aplicación efectiva. Gracias al Convenio de Viena para la
protección de la capa de ozono y su aplicación mediante el Protocolo de Montreal y sus enmiendas, el problema del
adelgazamiento de esta capa a una solución.

Consideration
We all sense what Paul means when he says:. We do not even know how we ought to pray. Our hearts often feel barren and tired; we cannot find words; we do not quite understand where exactly the joy of praying to the Lord lies. All the great masters of spirituality describe this condition. The seeker arrives at a point where he dejectedly and listlessly drops his arms. At that nadir, God’s Spirit comes to our aid: He breaks us open, liberates in our hearts the cry for God that we think we are fruitlessly seeking. That is the moment when God makes it known to us that He is not far away at all; that He is not absent when we seek Him; that He does not turn away from us when we beg Him to be freed from our limitations and imperfections.

God in all things promotes the salvation of those who love Him.

From the letter of the holy apostle Paul to the Christians of Rome

Brothers and sisters,

The Spirit comes to the aid of our weakness.
For we do not even know how we ought to pray,
but the Spirit himself intercedes for us
with unspeakable sighs.
And He who searches the hearts
knows what the Spirit is after,
for He pleads for the saints according to God’s intention.
Meanwhile, we know
that God in all things promotes the salvation of those who love Him,
of those who are called according to His decree.
For those whom He has known beforehand,
he has also destined in advance
to be conformed to the image of His Son,

168. Among the positive experiences, for example, the Convention of
Basel on hazardous waste with a reporting system, established levels
and controls, as well as the mandatory Convention on the
international trade in wild animal and plant species threatened with extinction,
which provides for sending delegations to monitor an
effective implementation. Thanks to the Vienna Convention for the
protection of the ozone layer and its implementation by the l
montreal Protocol and its amendments, the problem of the
thinning of this layer to a solution.

Uitnodiging

Mag ik hiermee Uw aandacht vragen voor
het dagelijks lezen van het Evangelie?

Deze uitnodiging wil U deelgenoot maken aan de vreugde
van het evangelie. Iedereen, niemand uitgezonderd,
kan die vreugde ervaren door zijn hart open te stellen
voor de genezende werking van Gods woord.

Overweging
Bijna elke maand vieren wij in de Kerk een feest van de apostelen. Dit liturgisch gedenken en vieren is belangrijk voor ons besef dat wij een apostolische kerkgemeenschap zijn, een gemeenschap die de Heer heeft gebouwd op de twaalf apostelen. Vandaag vieren we Simon, uit Kana, bijgenaamd de ijveraar. Judas, ook Taddeus genoemd, was de broer van Jakobus. Beide apostelen werden omwille van hun geloof gedood rond het jaar 70.

 

EERSTE LEZING                Ef. 2, 19-22

Gij zijt gebouwd op het fundament
van de apostelen en profeten.

Uit de brief van de heilige apostel Paulus aan de christenen van Efeze

Broeders en zusters,

Gij zijt geen vreemdelingen en ontheemden meer
maar medeburgers van de heiligen en huisgenoten van God,
gebouwd op het fundament van de apostelen en profeten,
terwijl de sluitsteen Christus Jezus zelf is,
die het hele bouwwerk in zijn voegen houdt.
In Hem groeit het uit tot een heilige tempel in de Heer.
In Hem wordt ook gij mee opgebouwd
tot een woonstede van God,
in de Geest.

TUSSENZANG             Ps. 19(18), 2-3, 4-5

Over heel de aarde klinkt hun roep.

De hemel verkondigt Gods heerlijkheid,

Over de zorg voor het gemeenschappelijk huis

167. De topconferentie over de aarde die in 1992 in Rio de Janeiro werd
gehouden dient vermeld te worden. Daar is verklaard dat “de mensen in het
middelpunt staan van de zorg betreffende de duurzame ontwikkeling”. De
inhoud van de Verklaring van Stockholm (1972) hernemend, heeft Rio
onder andere de internationale samenwerking bekrachtigd inzake de zorg
voor het ecosysteem van de hele aarde, de verplichting dat wie vervuilt,
daarvoor financieel verantwoordelijk is en de plicht om het effect van ieder
werk of project op het milieu te toetsen. Zij heeft als doel voorgesteld de
concentraties broeikasgas in de atmosfeer te stabiliseren om de tendens van
wereldwijde opwarming terug te dringen. Zij heeft ook een agenda met een
actieprogramma en een verdrag over de biodiversiteit uitgewerkt en principes
vastgelegd inzake de bossen. Hoewel die top voor zijn tijd werkelijk
innovatief en profetisch was, zijn de afspraken maar beperkt verwezenlijkt,
omdat er geen adequaat mechanisme van controle, periodiek onderzoek en
sanctie op plichtsverzuim was vastgesteld. De geformuleerde principes blijven
vragen om doeltreffende en snelle wegen voor een concrete realisatie.

Consideración
Casi todos los meses celebramos en la Iglesia una fiesta de los apóstoles. Este recuerdo y celebración litúrgicos son importantes para que tomemos conciencia de que somos una comunidad eclesial apostólica, una comunidad que el Señor edificó sobre los 12 apóstoles. Hoy celebramos a Simón, de Caná, apodado el zelote. Judas, también llamado Tadeo, era hermano de Santiago. Ambos apóstoles fueron asesinados por su fe hacia el año 70.

PRIMERA LECTURA                 Ef. 2,19-22

Tú estás edificado sobre el fundamento
de los apóstoles y profetas.

Sobre el cuidado de la casa común

167. La Cumbre de la Tierra celebrada en Río de Janeiro en 1992
debe ser mencionada. Allí se declaró que “las personas son el
centro de las preocupaciones relativas al desarrollo sostenible”. Tomando la
reiterando el contenido de la Declaración de Estocolmo (1972), Río
respaldó, entre otras cosas, la cooperación internacional sobre la preocupación
por el ecosistema de toda la Tierra, la obligación de que quien contamine
sea responsable económicamente por ello, y el deber de evaluar el impacto de cualquier obra o proyecto sobre el medio ambiente. Se ha propuesto como objetivo reducir las concentraciones de gases de efecto invernadero en la atmósfera para estabilizar la tendencia de calentamiento global. También ha propuesto una agenda con un programa de acción y un convenio sobre biodiversidad y principios establecidos sobre los bosques. Aunque esa cumbre fue realmente innovadora y profética, sus compromisos sólo se alcanzaron de forma limitada porque no existía un mecanismo adecuado de seguimiento, revisión periódica y sanción en caso de incumplimiento. Los principios formulados siguen exigen vías eficaces y rápidas para su realización concreta.

Consideration
Almost every month in the Church we celebrate a feast of the apostles. This liturgical remembrance and celebration is important for our awareness that we are an apostolic Church community, a community that the Lord built on the 12 apostles. Today we celebrate Simon, from Cana, nicknamed the zealot. Judas, also called Taddeus, was the brother of James. Both apostles were killed for their faith around the year 70.

FIRST READING                 Eph. 2,19-22

Thou art built on the foundation
of the apostles and prophets.

From the letter of the holy apostle Paul to the Christians of Ephesus

Brothers and sisters,

Ye are no longer strangers and displaced persons
but fellow citizens of the saints and household members of God,
built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets,
while the keystone is Christ Jesus Himself,
who holds the whole edifice in place.
In Him it grows into a holy temple in the Lord.
In Him you too are built up
into a dwelling place of God,
in the Spirit.

On caring for the common home

167. The Earth Summit held in Rio de Janeiro in 1992
held should be mentioned. There it was declared that “people are at the
centre of concern regarding sustainable development”. Taking the
reiterating the content of the Stockholm Declaration (1972), Rio
endorsed, among other things, international cooperation on concern
for the ecosystem of the whole earth, the obligation that those who pollute
is financially responsible for it, and the duty to assess the impact of any
work or project on the environment. It has proposed as an objective to reduce
greenhouse gas concentrations in the atmosphere to stabilise the trend of
global warming to be reduced. It has also proposed an agenda with an
programme of action and a convention on biodiversity and established principles laid down on forests. While that summit was truly
innovative and prophetic, its commitments were achieved only to a limited extent because there was no adequate mechanism of monitoring, periodic review and sanction for dereliction of duty had been established. The principles formulated continue to call for effective and rapid avenues for concrete realisation.

Overweging
Na het beschrijven van het ‘leven naar het vlees’ , beschrijft Paulus nu het ‘leven in de geest’. Dit is een totaal nieuw leven dat helemaal geleid wordt door Gods Geest. Hij maakt ons tot kinderen van God, tot erfgenaam samen met Christus. We delen in zijn lijden – en ook in zijn verheerlijking.

 

EERSTE LEZING                    Rom. 8, 12-17

Gij hebt de geest van het kindschap ontvangen
die ons doet uitroepen : Abba, Vader !

Uit de brief van de heilige apostel Paulus aan de christenen van Rome

Broeders en zusters,

Wij zijn schuldenaars
maar niet van het vlees, om naar het vlees te leven.
Als gij volgens het vlees leeft zult gij zeker sterven.
Maar als gij door de Geest de praktijken van de zelfzucht versterft
zult gij leven.
Allen die zich laten leiden door de Geest van God
zijn kinderen van God.
De geest die gij ontvangen hebt is er niet een van slaafsheid
die u opnieuw vrees zou aanjagen.
Gij hebt de geest van het kindschap ontvangen
die ons doet uitroepen :
“Abba, Vader !”
De Geest zelf bevestigt het getuigenis van onze geest
dat wij kinderen zijn van God.
Maar als wij kinderen zijn
dan zijn wij ook erfgenamen,
en wel erfgenamen van God, te zamen met Christus,
daar wij delen in zijn lijden om ook te delen in zijn verheerlijking.

Onze God is een God die verlost,
de Heer onze God ontrukt aan de dood.

Als God zich verheft stuift de vijand uiteen,
waar Hij zich vertoont vluchten zij die Hem haten.
Maar alle rechtvaardigen juichen van vreugde
en staan onbezorgd voor het aanschijn van God.

Voor wezen een vader, voor weduwen steun
is God in zijn heilige woning.
Verwaarloosden geeft Hij een eigen huis,

EVANGELIE                   Lc. 13, 10-17

Behoorde deze vrouw, – nog wel een dochter van Abraham –
niet van haar boeien bevrijd te worden op de sabbatdag ?

Uit het heilig evangelie van onze Heer Jezus Christus volgens
Lucas

Eens onderrichtte Jezus op sabbat in een van de synagogen,
toen er plotseling een vrouw kwam
die – bezeten door een geest – achttien jaar lang ziek was ;
zij was kromgebogen en kon zich in het geheel niet oprichten.
Toen Jezus haar zag
riep Hij haar bij zich en sprak :
“Vrouw, ge zijt van uw ziekte verlost.”
Hij legde haar de handen op
en op hetzelfde ogenblik richtte zij zich op
en zij verheerlijkte God.
Geërgerd omdat Jezus op sabbat genas,
nam nu de overste van de synagoge het woord
en sprak tot het volk :
“Zes dagen zijn er waarop gewerkt moet worden.
“Komt u dus op die dagen laten genezen
en niet op de sabbatdag.”
Jezus gaf hem ten antwoord :
“Huichelaars !
“Maakt niet ieder van u op sabbat
zijn os of ezel van de voederbak los

 Over de zorg voor het gemeenschappelijk huis 

166. De wereldwijde ecologische beweging heeft een lang traject
afgelegd, verrijkt door de krachtsinspanning van veel organisaties in de
samenleving. Het zou onmogelijk zijn ze hier allemaal te vermelden, noch
de geschiedenis van de bijdragen ervan de revue te laten passeren. Maar
dankzij zoveel inzet hebben milieukwesties steeds meer op de publieke
agenda gestaan en zijn zij een voortdurende uitnodiging geworden om op
lange termijn te denken. Desondanks hebben de wereldtopconferenties
over het milieu van de laatste jaren niet aan de verwachtingen
beantwoord, omdat zij bij gebrek aan politieke besluitvaardigheid niet gekomen
zijn tot werkelijk veelbetekenende en doeltreffende milieuovereenkomsten.

Después de haber descrito la “vida según la carne” , Pablo describe ahora la “vida en el espíritu”. Se trata de una vida totalmente nueva, guiada enteramente por el Espíritu de Dios. que vive en nuestros corazones y nos convierte en hijos de Dios. Nos hace hijos de Dios, herederos junto con Cristo. Participamos de su sufrimiento y también de su glorificación.

PRIMERA LECTURA                    Rom. 8, 12-17

Habéis recibido el espíritu de la infancia
que nos hace gritar: ¡Abbá, Padre!

De la carta del santo apóstol Pablo a los cristianos de Roma

Hermanos y hermanas,

Somos deudores
pero no de la carne, a vivir según la carne.
Si vivís según la carne, ciertamente moriréis.
Pero si por el Espíritu mortificáis las prácticas del egoísmo
viviréis.
Todos los que son guiados por el Espíritu de Dios
son hijos de Dios.
El espíritu que habéis recibido no es de esclavitud
que os haga temer de nuevo.
Habéis recibido el espíritu de la infancia
que nos hace gritar :
“¡Abba, Padre!”
El Espíritu mismo confirma el testimonio de nuestro espíritu
de que somos hijos de Dios.
Pero si somos hijos
también somos herederos

Una vez estaba Jesús enseñando en sábado en una de las sinagogas
cuando de repente llegó una mujer
que, poseída por un espíritu, estaba enferma desde hacía dieciocho años;
estaba encorvada y no podía levantarse.
Cuando Jesús la vio
la llamó y le dijo
“Mujer, has sido liberada de tu enfermedad”
Puso las manos sobre ella
y al mismo tiempo ella se levantó
y glorificó a Dios.
Molesto porque Jesús curaba en sábado,
ahora el líder de la sinagoga tomó la palabra
y habló a la gente :
“Seis días hay para trabajar.
“Así que vengan y sean curados en esos días
y no en sábado”
Jesús le contestó :
“¡Hipócritas!
“¿No desata cada uno de vosotros en sábado
a su buey o a su asno del pesebre
para llevarlo al abrevadero?
“¿Y esta mujer,
– hija de Abraham..
que durante no menos de dieciocho años
atada por el diablo
¿no fue liberada de esas cadenas en el día de reposo?”
Al decir esto, todos sus adversarios se avergonzaron.
Pero toda la multitud se regocijó
por todos los actos gloriosos que realizó.

Sobre el cuidado de la casa común

166. El movimiento ecologista mundial ha recorrido una larga trayectoria,
enriquecida por los esfuerzos de muchas organizaciones de la
sociedad. Sería imposible mencionarlas a todas aquí, ni repasar la historia
de sus contribuciones. Pero gracias a tantos esfuerzos, las cuestiones
medioambientales han ido ocupando cada vez más un lugar en la agenda
pública y se han convertido en una invitación constante a pensar en el
medio ambiente agenda y se han convertido en una invitación constante
a largo plazo. A pesar de ello, las cumbres mundiales
sobre medio ambiente de los últimos años no han estado a la altura de
las expectativas cumplidas, porque a falta de decisión política no han
llegado a acuerdos medioambientales realmente significativos y eficaces.

Consideration
Having described the ‘life according to the flesh’ , Paul now describes the ‘life in the spirit’. This is a totally new life led entirely by God’s Spirit who dwells in our hearts and makes us children of God. Who is a child, is heir together with Christ. We share in his suffering – and also in his glorification.

FIRST READING               Rom. 8, 12-17

You have received the spirit of childhood
which makes us cry out: Abba, Father!

From the letter of the holy apostle Paul to the Christians of Rome

Brothers and sisters,

We are debtors
but not of the flesh, to live according to the flesh.
If ye live according to the flesh ye shall surely die.
But if by the Spirit ye mortify the practices of selfishness
ye shall live.
All who are led by the Spirit of God
are children of God.
The spirit ye have received is not one of slavery
that would make thee fear again.
Ye have received the spirit of childhood
which makes us cry out :
“Abba, Father!”
The Spirit himself confirms the testimony of our spirit
that we are children of God.
But if we are children
then we are also heirs,
and indeed heirs of God, together with Christ,
since we share in his suffering to share also in his glorification.

Did this woman, – still a daughter of Abraham –
not be freed from her shackles on the Sabbath day ?

From the holy gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ according to
Luke

Once Jesus was teaching on the Sabbath in one of the synagogues,
when suddenly a woman came
who – possessed by a spirit – had been ill for 18 years ;
she was bent over and could not raise herself at all.
When Jesus saw her
he called her to Himself and spoke :
“Woman, you are delivered from your illness”
He laid his hands on her
and at the same moment she stood up
and she glorified God.
Annoyed because Jesus healed on Sabbath,
now the leader of the synagogue took the floor
and spoke to the people :
“Six days are there on which to work.
“So come and be healed on those days
and not on the Sabbath day.”
Jesus answered him in reply :
“Hypocrites !
“Does not every one of you on the Sabbath
loosen his ox or donkey from the manger
to carry him to the watering place ?
“And did then this woman,
– yet a daughter of Abraham –
who for no less than eighteen years
bound by the devil,
not to be freed from those chains on the Sabbath day ?”
When He said this, all His opponents were ashamed.
But all the crowd rejoiced
at all the glorious deeds He performed.

166. The global ecological movement has had a long trajectory
travelled, enriched by the efforts of many organisations in the
society. It would be impossible to mention them all here, nor
review the history of their contributions. But
thanks to so much effort, environmental issues have increasingly been on the public
agenda and have become a constant invitation to think in the
long-term thinking. Despite this, the world summits
on the environment in recent years have not lived up to expectations
met, because in the absence of political decisiveness they have not come
arrived at truly significant and effective environmental agreements.

Mag ik hiermee Uw aandacht vragen voor
het dagelijks lezen van het Evangelie?

Deze uitnodiging wil U deelgenoot maken aan de vreugde
van het evangelie. Iedereen, niemand uitgezonderd,
kan die vreugde ervaren door zijn hart open te stellen
voor de genezende werking van Gods woord.

OPENINGSWOORD

In elke eucharistieviering
richten we onze gebeden tot de Heer
en roepen Hem aan vanuit onze kleinheid.
Hij is als een Vader die luistert naar ons roepen,
ook al is ons gebed misschien niet zo perfect
en is ons leven niet zo voorbeeldig.
God heeft zijn Zoon gezonden,
om door zijn sterven en verrijzen bevrijding te brengen.
Hij, de levende Heer, is in ons midden aanwezig.
We roepen Hem aan en bidden om zijn ontferming.

EERSTE  LEZING                      Sir. 35, 15b-17.20-22a

Het gebed van de arme dringt door de wolken heen.

De Heer is een rechter,
en bij Hem is er geen aanzien des persoons;
Hij neemt geen steekpenningen aan ten koste van de arme,
maar luistert naar het pleit van de verdrukte.
Hij wijst het gezucht van de wezen niet af,
noch van de weduwe wanneer zij blijft klagen.
Wie anderen bijstaat wordt welwillend ontvangen,
en zijn gebed verheft zich tot de wolken toe.
Het gebed van de arme dringt door de wolken heen,
zolang het zijn doel niet bereikt, rust het niet;
het laat niet af, totdat de Allerhoogste zich erbarmt,
en de Rechtvaardige oordeel velt en recht verschaft.

Keervers
Die roepen in nood, naar hen luistert de Heer.

De Heer zal ik prijzen iedere dag,
zijn lof ligt mij steeds op de lippen.

Van boosdoeners keert Hij zijn aangezicht af,
zij worden op aarde vergeten.
Naar vromen die roepen, luistert de Heer
en redt hen uit iedere nood.

Dierbare,

Ik heb de goede strijd gestreden,
de wedloop voleind,

Nu wacht mij de krans der gerechtigheid
waarmee de Heer, de rechtvaardige Rechter,
mij zal belonen op de grote dag, en niet alleen mij
maar allen die met liefde uitzien naar zijn komst.
Bij mijn eerste verdediging heeft niemand mij bijgestaan,
allen hebben mij in de steek gelaten.

Maar de Heer heeft mij terzijde gestaan en mij kracht gegeven
om mijn ambt als prediker van het evangelie
ten einde toe te vervullen,

Over de zorg voor ons gemeenschappelijk huis

165. Wij weten dat de technologie die gebaseerd is op zeer vervuilende
fossiele brandstoffen, vooral kolen, maar ook olie en in mindere mate gas,
geleidelijk en zonder aarzelen moet worden vervangen. In afwachting van
een brede ontwikkeling van hernieuwbare energie, die al begonnen zou
moeten zijn, is het gewettigd te kiezen voor het minst schadelijke alternatief
of zijn toevlucht te nemen tot overgangsoplossingen. In de internationale
gemeenschap komt men echter niet tot adequate overeenkomsten omtrent
de verantwoordelijkheid van degenen die de grootste kosten van de overgang
op energiegebied moeten dragen. In de laatste decennia hebben milieukwesties
aanleiding gegeven tot een breed publiek debat, dat in de maatschappij ruimte
heeft doen ontstaan voor een opmerkelijk engagement en
edelmoedige toewijding. Politiek en industrie antwoorden traag en zijn
verre van opgewassen tegen de mondiale uitdagingen. In deze zin kan men
zeggen dat, terwijl de mensheid van het postindustriële tijdperk misschien
zal worden vermeld als een van de meest onverantwoordelijke van de
geschiedenis, het te wensen is dat de mensheid aan begin van de 21ste eeuw
de geschiedenis kan ingaan vanwege het feit dat het edelmoedig de eigen
zware verantwoordelijkheden op zich heeft genomen.

PALABRA DE APERTURA

En cada Eucaristía
dirigimos nuestras oraciones al Señor
y le invocamos desde nuestra pequeñez.
Él es como un Padre que escucha nuestros gritos,
aunque nuestra oración no sea tan perfecta
y nuestra vida no sea tan ejemplar.
Dios envió a su Hijo
para liberarnos con su muerte y resurrección.
Él, el Señor vivo, está presente en medio de nosotros.
Le invocamos y pedimos su misericordia.

PRIMERA LECTURA                    Sir. 35, 15b-17.20-22a

La oración del pobre penetra en las nubes.

El Señor es juez
y con Él no hay acepción de personas;
No acepta sobornos a costa de los pobres ,
sino que escucha la súplica del oprimido.
No rechaza el suspiro del huérfano
ni el de la viuda cuando no deja de quejarse.
El que ayuda a los demás es bien recibido
y su oración se eleva hasta las nubes.
La oración del pobre penetra en las nubes,
mientras no alcanza su meta, no descansa;
no desiste, hasta que el Altísimo se apiada,
y el Justo pronuncie juicio y justicia.

Entrebillo
A los que gritan angustiados, el Señor los escucha.

Al Señor alabaré todos los días,
su alabanza está siempre en mis labios.
Mi espíritu se enorgullece del favor del Señor,

De los malhechores Él aparta Su rostro,
son olvidados en la tierra.
A los piadosos que claman, el Señor los escucha
y los rescata de toda necesidad.

El Señor está cerca de los corazones afligidos,
Él ayuda a los que reconocen su culpa.

Ahora me espera la corona de la justicia.

Querido,

En cuanto a mí,
mi sangre pronto será derramada,
la hora de mi muerte se acerca.
He peleado la buena batalla,
terminado la carrera,
he guardado la fe.
Ahora me espera la corona de justicia
con la que el Señor, el justo Juez,
me recompensará en el gran día, y no sólo a mí
sino a todos los que esperan con amor su venida.
En mi primera defensa, nadie estuvo a mi lado,
todos me abandonaron.
Que no se les culpe.
Pero el Señor ha estado a mi lado y me ha dado fuerzas
para cumplir mi ministerio como predicador del Evangelio
hasta el fin,
para que todas las naciones oyeran hablar de él.
Y fui librado de las fauces del león.
El Señor continuará protegiéndome de todos los ataques malignos
y me llevará preservado a su reino celestial.

Sobre el cuidado de nuestra casa común

165. Sabemos que la tecnología basada en combustibles fósile,
especialmente el carbón, pero también el petróleo
y en menor medida el gas, debe ser sustituida gradualmente y sin vacilaciones.
En previsión de un amplio desarrollo de las energías renovables, que ya
debería haber comenzado, es legítimo optar
por la alternativa menos perjudicial o recurrir a soluciones transitorias.
En la comunidad internacional, sin embargo, se necesitan
acuerdos adecuados sobre la responsabilidad de quienes tienen que soportar
los mayores costes de la transición energética.
En las últimas décadas, las cuestiones medioambientales han
dado lugar a un amplio debate público, que ha creado un espacio en la sociedad a un notable compromiso y generosa dedicación.
La política y la industria tardan en responder y están
lejos de hacer frente a los retos globales. En este sentido, se puede
decir que si bien la humanidad de la era postindustrial podría
figurar como una de las más irresponsables de la
historia, es de desear que la humanidad de principios del siglo XXI
pueda pasar a la historia por haber asumido generosamente sus
responsabilidades.
