Mag ik hiermee Uw aandacht vragen voor
het dagelijks lezen van het Evangelie?
Deze uitnodiging wil U deelgenoot maken aan de vreugde
van het evangelie. Iedereen, niemand uitgezonderd,
kan die vreugde ervaren door zijn hart open te stellen
voor de genezende werking van Gods woord.

Overweging
Het eerste woord dat de leerlingen van Jezus moeten spreken als ze mensen ontmoeten, is: “Vrede”. De vrede is een vrucht van de Geest. Wie vredevol naar mensen toegaat en vredevol blijft, ook al worden de tekens van goede wil niet aanvaard, toont dat de Geest in hem of haar aan het werk is. Bij Lucas is de Geest de motor van de verkondiging: hij stuwt de leerlingen vooruit, naar telkens nieuwe horizonten. Daarom is het ook zo belangrijk om die Geest telkens af te smeken als we samen komen om liturgie te vieren.
EERSTE LEZING 2 Tim. 4, 9-17a

Uit de tweede brief van de heilige apostel Paulus aan Timóteüs
Dierbare,
Doe uw best om spoedig bij mij te komen.
Demas gaf de voorkeur aan de wereld
en heeft mij in de steek gelaten.
Hij is naar Tessalonica vertrokken,
Crescens naar Galatië,
Titus naar Dalmatië.
Alleen Lucas is bij me.
Ga Marcus halen en neem hem met u mee ;
ik kan hem goed gebruiken voor het werk.
Tychikus heb ik naar Efeze gezonden.
Als gij komt, breng dan de mantel mee
die ik in Troas bij Karpus heb laten liggen,
en ook de boeken, vooral de perkamenten.
Alexander, de koperslager heeft mij veel kwaad berokkend.
De Heer zal hem vergelden naar zijn werken.
Neem ook gij u voor hem in acht
want hij heeft onze woorden heftig bestreden.
Bij mijn eerste verdediging heeft niemand mij bijgestaan,
allen hebben mij in de steek gelaten.
Moge het hun niet worden aangerekend.
Maar de Heer heeft mij terzijde gestaan en mij kracht gegeven
om mijn ambt als prediker van het evangelie
ten einde toe te vervullen,
zodat alle volken ervan horen.
TUSSENZANG Ps. 145(144), 10-11, 12-13ab, 17-18
De heiligen, Heer, verkondigen uw roem.
Uw werken zullen U prijzen, Heer,
uw vromen zullen U loven.
Zij roemen de glorie van uw heerschappij,
uw macht verkondigen zij.
Zij maken uw kracht aan de mensen bekend,
de pracht van uw koninkrijk.
Uw rijk is een rijk voor alle eeuwen,
uw heerschappij geldt voor ieder geslacht.
De Heer is rechtvaardig op al zijn wegen,
en heilig in al wat Hij doet.
Nabij is de Heer voor elk die Hem aanroept,

De oogst is groot maar arbeiders zijn er weinig.
Uit het heilig evangelie van onze Heer Jezus Christus volgens
Lucas
In die tijd wees de Heer tweeënzeventig leerlingen aan
en zond hen twee aan twee voor zich uit
naar alle steden en plaatsen
waarheen Hij zelf van plan was te gaan.
Hij sprak tot hen :
“De oogst is groot
maar arbeiders zijn er weinig.
“vraagt daarom de Heer van de oogst
arbeiders te sturen om te oogsten.
“Gaat dan,
maar zie, Ik zend u als lammeren onder de wolven.
“Neemt geen beurs mee, geen reiszak, geen schoeisel
en groet niemand onderweg.
“In welk huis ge ook binnengaat, laat uw eerste woord zijn :
Vrede aan dit huis !
“Woont daar een vredelievend mens
dan zal uw vrede op hem rusten ;
zo niet dan zal hij op u terugkeren.
“Blijft in dat huis en eet en drinkt wat zij u aanbieden ;
want de arbeider is zijn loon waard.
“Gaat niet van het ene huis naar het andere;
in elke stad waar ge binnengaat en ontvangen wordt,
eet wat u wordt voorgezet,
geneest de zieken die er zijn
en zegt tot hen : Het Rijk Gods is u nabij.”

Over de zorg voor het gemeenschappelijk huis door Paus Franciscus
91. Een gevoel van innige verbondenheid met de andere wezens in de natuur kan niet echt zijn, als er tegelijkertijd in het hart geen tederheid, medeleven en bezorgdheid is voor de mens. De inconsequentie van degene die strijdt tegen de handel in dieren die dreigen uit te sterven, maar totaal onverschillig blijft voor mensenhandel, geen belangstelling heeft voor de armen of vastbesloten is een andere mens die hem niet aanstaat, te vernietigen, is duidelijk. Dat brengt de zin van de strijd voor het milieu in gevaar. Het is niet toevallig dat in het gezang waarin hij God prijst, de heilige Franciscus toevoegt: “Wees geprezen, mijn Heer, om hen die vergeven om uw liefde”. Alles is met elkaar verbonden. Daarom is er een bezorgdheid voor het milieu vereist die verbonden is met een oprechte liefde voor de mens en een voortdurende inzet betreffende de problemen van de maatschappij.

CONSIDERATION
The first word that the disciples of Jesus have to speak when they meet people is: “Peace”. Peace is a fruit of the Spirit. He who goes to people in peace and stays in peace, even if the signs of good will are not accepted, shows that the Spirit is at work in him or her. In Luke, the Spirit is the engine of proclamation: he propels the disciples forward, always to new horizons. That is why it is so important to implore the Spirit each time we come together to celebrate the liturgy.

Dear one,
Do your best to come to me soon.

to which He Himself intended to go.
He said to them :
“The harvest is great
but the labourers are few.
“Therefore ask the Lord of the harvest
send out labourers to harvest.
“Go ye therefore,
but behold, I send you forth as lambs among wolves.
“Take no purse, no bag, no shoes
and greet no one on the way.
“Into whatever house you enter, let your first word be :
Peace to this house!
“If a man of peace lives there
then your peace shall be upon him ;
if not, it will return to you.
“Stay in that house and eat and drink what they offer you ;
for the labourer is worth his wages.
“Do not go from one house to another;
in every city where you enter and are received,
eat what is set before you,
heal the sick who are there

On the Care of the Common Home by Pope Francis
91. A feeling of intimate communion with the other creatures of nature cannot be real, if at the same time in the heart there is no tenderness, compassion and concern for human beings. The inconsistency of the person who fights against the trafficking of animals in danger of extinction but remains totally indifferent to human trafficking, has no interest in the poor or is determined to destroy another human being who does not like him, is obvious. This compromises the meaning of the struggle for the environment. It is not by chance that in the chant in which he praises God, St Francis adds: ‘Be praised, my Lord, for those who forgive for your love’. Everything is connected. That is why a concern for the environment is required that is linked to a sincere love for people and an ongoing commitment to the problems of society.
