Mag ik hiermee Uw aandacht vragen voor het dagelijks lezen van het Evangelie?

Deze uitnodiging wil U deelgenoot maken aan de vreugde van het evangelie. Iedereen, niemand uitgezonderd, kan die vreugde ervaren door zijn hart open te stellen voor de genezende werking van Gods woord.

Overweging De bouw van de tempel is een hoogtepunt in de geschiedenis van Gods aanwezigheid bij zijn volk: uittocht, Sinaï, ark van het verbond, tent van samenkomst, tempel van Jeruzalem. De wolk verbindt dit alles tot een eenheid. Zij was er reeds bij de uittocht; zij is er ook nu om Gods aanwezigheid te accentueren. Ook de aanwezigheid van alle stamhoofden onderlijnt de continuïteit doorheen de geschiedenis. De antwoordpsalm 132 is een passende echo op dit gebeuren.   EERSTE  LEZING                    I Kon.  8, 1-7. 9-13 Zij brachten de ark van het verbond in het heilige der heiligen, en de wolk vulde de tempel van de Heer. Uit het eerste Boek der Koningen In die dagen riep Salomo de oudsten van Israël, alle stamhoofden en leiders van de families der Israëlieten, naar Jeruzalem om de ark van het verbond met de Heer af te halen uit de Davidstad, ook Sion geheten. Zo kwamen alle mannen van Israël samen bij koning Salomo op het feest in de maand Etanim, dat is de zevende maand. De oudsten van Israël traden naar voren, de priesters tilden de ark op en brachten haar met de tent van samenkomst en de bijbehorende gewijde voorwerpen over. Dit deden de priesters, samen met de levieten. Koning Salomo en heel de gemeenschap van Israël, die zich rond hem verzameld had, gingen voor de ark uit en ze offerden zoveel schapen en runderen dat ze niet te tellen of te schatten waren. De priesters brachten de ark van het verbond met de Heer op haar plaats in de achterzaal van de tempel, het heilige der heiligen, onder de vleugels van de kerubs. De kerubs spreidden hun beide vleugels uit over de plaats van de ark en overschaduwden de ark en de draagstokken. Er lag in de ark niets anders dan de twee stenen platen die Mozes erin had gelegd op de Horeb, de platen van het verbond dat de Heer had gesloten met de Israëlieten toen ze uit Egypte trokken. Toen de priesters het heiligdom verlieten vulde een wolk de tempel van de Heer, zodat ze niet ter plaatse konden blijven voor het verrichten van hun dienstwerk, want de heerlijkheid van de Heer vervulde de tempel van de Heer. Toen sprak Salomo : “Heer, Gij hebt besloten in het duister te wonen, ik heb U dan een verheven tempel gebouwd, een woonplaats voor eeuwig.” TUSSENZANG               Ps. 132(131), 6-7, 8-10 Rijs op, Heer, en kom naar uw rustplaats. Wij hoorden ervan in Efrat en vonden de ark in Jearims velden. Laten wij binnengaan waar Hij verblijft, vallen wij neer voor Gods voetbank. Rijs op, Heer, en kom naar uw rustplaats, Gij en de ark van uw majesteit, uw priesters gekleed in gerechtigheid, uw heiligen dansend van vreugde. Omwille van David, uw dienaar, verstoot uw gezalfde niet.   ALLELUIA                          Mt. 4, 4b Alleluia. Niet van brood alleen leeft de mens, maar van alles wat uit de mond van God voortkomt. Alleluia.   EVANGELIE                  Mc. 6, 53-56 Allen die Jezus aanraakten werden gezond. Uit het heilig evangelie van onze Heer Jezus Christus volgens Marcus In die tijd staken Jezus en zijn leerlingen het meer over, bereikten de kust bij Gennésaret en liepen de haven binnen. Zodra zij uit de boot gestapt waren herkenden de mensen Hem. Zij liepen heel de streek af en men begon de zieken op hun bedden naar de plaats te dragen waar men hoorde dat Hij was. Waar Hij maar binnenkwam, in dorp of stad of gehucht, legde men de zieken op de pleinen en smeekte Hem of ze tenminste de zoom van zijn kleed mochten aanraken.   CONSIDERATION The building of the temple is a high point in the history of God’s presence with his people: exodus, Sinai, ark of the covenant, tent of meeting, temple of Jerusalem. The cloud unites all this into one unit. It was already there at the exodus; it is also there now to accentuate God’s presence. The presence of all the chiefs also underlines the continuity throughout history. The answering psalm 132 is a fitting echo to this event.   FIRST READING    I Kings 8, 1-7, 9-13 They brought the ark of the covenant into the the holy of holies, and the cloud filled the temple of the Lord.   From the First Book of Kings In those days Solomon called the elders of Israel, all the chiefs and leaders of the families of the Israelites, to Jerusalem to bring down the ark of the covenant with the Lord from the city of David, also called Zion. So all the men of Israel came together with King Solomon on the feast in the month of Etanim, which is the seventh month. The elders of Israel came forward, the priests lifted up the ark and brought it over with the tent of meeting and the consecrated objects that went with it. This was done by the priests together with the Levites. King Solomon and all the community of Israel which had gathered around him, went out before the ark and they sacrificed so many sheep and cattle that they could not be counted or estimated. The priests brought the ark of the covenant of the Lord into its place in the rear hall of the temple, the holy of holies, under the wings of the kerubim. The kerubim spread both their wings over the place of the ark and overshadowed the ark and its carrying poles. There was nothing in the ark but the two stone slabs that Moses had placed in it on Horeb, the slabs of the covenant that the Lord had made with the Israelites when they came out of Egypt. When the priests left the sanctuary, a cloud filled the temple of the Lord, so that they could not remain there for the performance of their ministry, for the glory of the Lord filled the temple of the Lord. Then Solomon spoke : “Lord, Thou hast decided to dwell in darkness, I have built Thee an exalted temple, a dwelling place for ever.” INTERLUDIUM    Ps. 132(131), 6-7, 8-10 Rise up, Lord, and come to your resting place. We heard of it in Efrat and found the ark in Jeharm’s fields. Let us go in where He dwells, let us fall down before the footstool of God. Rise, O Lord, and come to thy resting place, Thou and the ark of thy majesty, thy priests clothed in righteousness, thy saints dancing for joy. For the sake of David, thy servant, reject not thy anointed one.   ALLELUIA    Mt 4, 4b Alleluia. Man does not live by bread alone, but from all that proceeds from the mouth of God. Alleluia.   GOSPEL    Mk. 6, 53-56 All who touched Jesus became healthy. From the Holy Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ according to Mark At that time Jesus and his disciples crossed the lake, reached the shore at Gennesaret and entered the harbour. As soon as they got out of the boat the people recognised him. They walked all over the region and they began to carry the sick on their beds to where they heard he was. Wherever He entered, in village or town or hamlet, the sick were laid out in the squares and begged him if they could at least touch the hem of his robe.
