Esta invitación es para compartir la alegría
del Evangelio con ustedes. Todos, sin excepción,
pueden experimentar esa alegría abriendo su corazón
al poder sanador de la palabra de Dios.

Consideración
Como ayer, colocamos dos textos uno al lado del otro con el salmo de respuesta 7. «No sabía lo que tramaban contra mí», «líbrame de mis perseguidores» y «algunos de ellos querían arrestarlo». Nos acercamos claramente a la temporada de la Pasión y una sombra oscura se cierne sobre todo esto como un presagio de lo que está por venir.

PRIMERA LECTURA:               Jer. 11:18-20
Yo era tan inocente como un cordero llevado al matadero.

Del profeta Jeremías
Cuando el Señor Dios me advirtió, apenas me di cuenta;
de hecho, me has mostrado su complot.
Yo era tan inocente
como un cordero llevado al matadero;
No sospechaba lo que tramaban contra mí:
Talamos el árbol en su plenitud.
Lo desterramos de la tierra de los vivos,
para que su nombre ya no se mencione. Señor, Dios de los poderes celestiales,

¿Podría ser el Mesías de Galilea?

Del santo evangelio de nuestro Señor Jesucristo según
Juan

Cuando algunos de la gente oyeron las palabras de Jesús
dijeron:
«Este es el profeta».
Otros dijeron:
«Este es el Mesías».
Y otros preguntaron:
«¿Acaso el Mesías no viene de Galilea?
¿No dice la Escritura
que el Mesías desciende de David
y que viene de Belén, la aldea donde vivió David?».
Así, la división surgió entre la gente a causa de él.
Algunos de ellos querían arrestarlo,
pero nadie le puso una mano encima.
Entonces los oficiales
que fueron enviados por los principales sacerdotes y fariseos
volvieron y les preguntaron:
«¿Por qué no lo trajeron?»
Los oficiales respondieron:
«Nadie ha hablado como este hombre».
A lo que los fariseos dijeron:
«¿También vosotros habéis sido engañados?
«¿Alguno de los gobernantes
o de los fariseos ha creído en él?
«¡Malditos sean esos hombres,
que no conocen la Ley!».
Pero uno de ellos, Nicodemo
que había acudido a Jesús anteriormente, comentó:
«¿Acaso nuestra ley condena a alguien
sin antes oírlo y saber lo que hace?».
Ellos respondieron:
«¿También tú eres de Galilea?
«Mira a tu alrededor y verás
que el profeta no se levanta de Galilea».
Entonces todos se fueron a casa.

Sobre la fraternidad y la amistad social

239. La lectura de otros textos del Nuevo Testamento nos muestra que
las primeras comunidades, inmersas como estaban en un mundo pagano
lleno de corrupción y abusos, practicaban de hecho una generosa indulgencia,
tolerancia y comprensión. Algunos textos son muy claros en este
sentido: se invita a corregir suavemente al oponente
(cf. 2 Tim. 2:25). Se recomienda «no difamar a nadie
y no buscar pelea, ser amables y extremadamente gentiles en
el trato con todos sin excepción. Porque nosotros también fuimos
incomprensibles» (Tito 3:2-3). El libro de los Hechos de los Apóstoles
dice que los discípulos, que fueron perseguidos por algunas autoridades, «gozaban
de la simpatía de todo el pueblo» (cf. 2:47; 4:21, 33; 5:13).

Consideration
As yesterday, we place two texts side by side with the response psalm 7. ‘I did not know what they were planning against me’, ‘deliver me from my persecutors’ and ‘some of them wanted to arrest him’. We are clearly approaching the Passion season and a dark shadow hangs over all of this as a harbinger of things to come.

FIRST READING:       Jer. 11:18-20
I was as innocent as a lamb led to the slaughter.

From the Prophet Jeremiah

When the Lord God warned me, I was only just aware;
indeed, you have shown me their plot.
I was as innocent
as a lamb led to the slaughter;
I did not suspect what they were plotting against me:
We cut down the tree in its full strength.
We banish him from the land of the living,
so that his name is no longer mentioned. Lord, God of the heavenly powers,
your judgement is just,
You fathom hearts and kidneys.
Let me see then how You avenge Yourself on them;
for I have committed my cause to You.

INTERLUDIUM                Ps. 7, 2-3, 9bc-10, 11-12

Lord, my God, to You I flee. Lord, my God, to You I flee,
deliver me from my persecutors.
Otherwise the lions will drag me away,

Could the Messiah be from Galilee?

From the holy gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ according to
John

When some of the people heard Jesus‘ words
they said,
’This is the prophet.‘
Others said,
’This is the Messiah.‘
Still others asked,
’Surely the Messiah does not come from Galilee, does he?
Has not the scripture said
that the Messiah is descended from David
and comes from Bethlehem, the village where David lived?’
Thus, division arose among the people because of him.
Some of them wanted to arrest him,
but no one laid a hand on him.
Then the officers
who were sent by the chief priests and Pharisees
came back and asked them,
‘Why did you not bring him?’
The officers answered,
‘No one has ever spoken like this man.‘
To which the Pharisees said:
’Have you also been deceived?
‘Have any of the authorities
or the Pharisees believed in him?
’That people, yes,
who do not know the Law,
cursed are they!”
But one of their number, Nicodemus
who had come to Jesus earlier, remarked:
‘Does our law condemn anyone
without first hearing him and knowing what he does?’
They replied:
‘Are you from Galilee too?
’Look around and you will see
that the prophet does not rise up from Galilee.’
Then everyone went home.

On fraternity and social friendship

239. A reading of other New Testament texts shows us that
the first communities, immersed as they were in a pagan world
full of corruption and abuse, practised in fact a generous forbearance,
tolerance and understanding. Some texts are very clear in this
regard: one is invited to gently correct the opponent
(cf. 2 Tim. 2:25). It is recommended to ‘defame no one
and seek no quarrel, to be kind and extremely gentle in
dealing with everyone without exception. For we too were once
without understanding’ (Tit. 3:2-3). The book of the Acts of the Apostles
says that the disciples, who were persecuted by some authorities, “were
in favour with all the people” (cf. 2:47; 4:21, 33; 5:13).

Consideración

La liturgia pone el Libro de la Sabiduría y el Salmo 34 uno al lado del otro: «Aguardemos al justo» y «porque estaban deseosos de matarlo». No se trata de una predicción real, sino de una impresionante prefiguración. Mt. 27:32-43 sería aún más impresionante. Escuchemos la hermosa primera lectura, frase a frase, y reconoceremos en ella la historia de la Pasión.

PRIMERA LECTURA                        Sabiduría 2:1a.12-22
Condenemos a los justos a una muerte vergonzosa.

Del Libro de la Sabiduría

En un engaño falso, los malvados se dicen unos a otros:
«Atacemos al hombre justo, porque no nos sirve de nada,
va en contra de nuestras obras,
nos acusa de pecados contra la ley
nos acusa de transgredir nuestra educación.
«Finge tener conocimiento de Dios
y se llama a sí mismo hijo del Señor;
se ha convertido en un reproche para nosotros por nuestras opiniones;
sólo verlo es una carga para nosotros,
porque su estilo de vida es diferente al de los demás
y su comportamiento es inusual;
nos considera dinero falso,
evita nuestros caminos como si fueran impuros;
llama bendito al fin de los justos,
se jacta de que Dios es su padre.
«Veamos si sus palabras son ciertas, y probemos qué sucederá cuando se vaya. Porque si el justo es hijo de Dios, él acudirá en su ayuda y lo rescatará de la mano de sus oponentes».
«Veamos si sus palabras son ciertas,
y probemos qué sucede cuando él se haya ido.
«Porque si el justo es hijo de Dios,
Él acudirá en su ayuda
y lo rescatará de la mano de sus adversarios.
«Tratemos con él brutalmente y atormentémoslo,

«Condene-moslo a una muerte vergonzosa,
después de todo, él estará protegido, dice».

Ese fue su razonamiento, pero los llevó por mal camino,
porque su maldad los cegó.
No entendían los secretos de Dios,
no esperaban una recompensa por una vida santa,
ni creían en un premio de honor para las almas inmaculadas.

INTERLUDIO                Sal. 34 (33), 17-18, 19-20, 21, 23
El Señor está cerca de los quebrantados de corazón.
Él aparta su rostro de los impíos,
son olvidados en la tierra.
El Señor escucha a los piadosos que llaman
y los salva de toda necesidad. El Señor está cerca del corazón contrito,
ayuda a los que reconocen su culpa.
Muchos desastres amenazarán a los piadosos,
de cada uno de ellos el Señor lo salva. El Señor velará por sus huesos
para que no se rompa ninguno de ellos.
El Señor salva la vida de los que le sirven,
los que han huido a Él no tienen por qué temer el castigo.

Dios amó tanto al mundo
que dio a su Hijo unigénito,
para que todo el que cree en Él no perezca.

Los judíos querían hacer de Jesús su maestro, pero su hora aún no había llegado.

En aquel tiempo Jesús andaba por Galilea,
pues no quería hacerlo en Judea
porque los judíos estaban empeñados en matarlo.
Estaba cerca de una de las fiestas judías,
la Fiesta de los Tabernáculos.
Cuando sus hermanos se fueron a la fiesta
él también se puso en camino,
no abiertamente, sino discretamente.
Algunos de los habitantes de Jerusalén dijeron:
«¿No es este el hombre al que quieren matar?
Y miradlo ahora,
está predicando públicamente y no le dicen nada.
«¿Podrían las autoridades haber reconocido realmente
que Él es el Mesías?
«Pero sabemos de dónde viene este hombre;
sin embargo, cuando venga el Mesías
nadie sabrá de dónde viene».
Mientras Jesús enseñaba en el templo
gritó en voz alta:
«Me conocéis y sabéis de dónde vengo;
pero no he venido por mi cuenta
sino que el que me ha enviado es verdadero;
a él no lo conocéis.
«Yo lo conozco
porque soy de él y él me ha enviado».
Querían detenerlo,
pero nadie le puso la mano encima

Sobre la fraternidad y la amistad social

238. Jesucristo nunca nos invitó a fomentar la violencia o la
intolerancia. Él mismo condenó abiertamente el uso de la
violencia para imponernos a los demás: «Sabéis que los gobernantes de los
pueblos los dominan y los jefes los oprimen. No debe ser así
entre vosotros» (Mateo 20:25-26). Además, el Evangelio nos pide que perdonemos
«setenta veces siete» (Mateo 18:22) y pone el ejemplo del esclavo implacable
que fue perdonado, pero que no pudo perdonar a los demás a su vez.
(cf. Mt. 18:23-25).

Consideration

The liturgy places the Book of Wisdom and Psalm 34 side by side: ‘Let us lie in wait for the righteous man’ and ‘for they were anxious to kill him’. We are not dealing with a real prediction here, but with an impressive prefiguration. Mt. 27:32-43 would be even more impressive. Let us listen to the beautiful first reading sentence by sentence and we will recognise the Passion story in it.

FIRST READING              Wisdom 2:1a.12-22
Let us condemn the righteous to a shameful death.

From the Book of Wisdom

In false delusion the wicked say to one another:
‘Let us attack the righteous man, for he is no use to us,
he goes against our works,
he accuses us of sins against the law
he accuses us of transgressing our upbringing.
“He pretends to have knowledge of God
and he calls himself a child of the Lord;
he has become a reproach to us for our views;
just to see him is a burden to us,
for his lifestyle is different from others
and his behaviour is unusual;
he considers us counterfeit money,
he avoids our ways as if they were impure;
he calls the end of the righteous blessed,
he boasts that God is his father.
‘Let us see if his words are true,
and let us test what happens when he is gone.
‘For if the righteous man is God’s son,
He will come to his aid
and rescue him from the hand of his adversaries.
’Let us deal with him brutally and torment him,
to see if he is really gentle
and to test his patience.
‘Let us condemn him to a shameful death,
after all, he will be protected, he says.’

That was their reasoning, but it led them astray,
because their wickedness blinded them.
They did not understand God’s secrets,
they did not hope for a reward for a holy life,
nor did they believe in a prize of honour for immaculate souls.

The Lord is near to the brokenhearted.

He turns his face away from the wicked,
they are forgotten on earth.
The Lord listens to the pious who call
and saves them from every need.

The Lord is near to the contrite heart,
He helps those who recognise their guilt.
Many disasters will threaten the pious,
from each of them the Lord saves him.

The Lord will watch over his bones
so that he does not break any of them.
The Lord saves the life of those who serve Him,
those who have fled to Him have no need to fear punishment.

God so loved the world
that He gave His only begotten Son,
that whoever believes in Him shall not perish.

‘Isn’t this the man they want to kill?

‘Could the authorities have really recognised
that He is the Messiah?
‘But we know where this man comes from;
however, when the Messiah comes
no one will know where He comes from.’
While Jesus was teaching in the temple
He called out in a loud voice:
“You know Me and you know where I come from;
yet I have not come of myself
but He who sent me is true;
him you do not know.
‘I know him
because I am from him and he sent me.’
They wanted to take him,
but no one laid a hand on him
because his hour had not yet come.

On fraternity and social friendship

238. Jesus Christ never invited us to foment violence or
intolerance. He himself openly condemned the use of
violence to impose ourselves on others: ‘You know that the rulers of the
peoples dominate them and the leaders oppress them. It must not be so
among you‘ (Matthew 20:25-26). Moreover, the gospel asks us to forgive
’seventy times seven’ (Matthew 18:22) and sets the example of the unforgiving
slave who was forgiven, but who was unable to forgive others in turn
turn could not forgive others (cf. Matt. 18:23-25).

Mag ik hiermee Uw aandacht vragen voor het dagelijks lezen van het Evangelie?

Deze uitnodiging wil U deelgenoot maken aan de vreugde van het evangelie. Iedereen, niemand uitgezonderd, kan die vreugde ervaren door zijn hart open te stellen voor de genezende werking van Gods woord.

Elke dag ter beschikking

Overweging De voortzetting van de evangelielezing wijst op de mogelijke verharding in het ongeloof. Men kan zich sluiten voor God. In contrast daarmee staat de eerste lezing: ommekeer is steeds mogelijk. Mozes is hier de grote voorspreker en hij plaatst drie motieven tegenover Gods toorn. – Gij hebt het volk uit Egypte geleid. Laat ge het nu in de steek? – De Egyptenaren zullen zich vrolijk maken en U honen (dit komt ook elders voor in het O.T.). – Tenslotte herinnert hij God aan zijn belofte en het Verbond. Conclusie: God herbegint steeds met zijn volk, vroeger en nu.   EERSTE LEZING                Ex. 32, 7-14 Zie af, Heer, van het onheil waarmee Gij uw volk bedreigt. Uit het Boek Exodus In die tijd sprak de Heer tot Mozes : “Ga naar beneden, want het volk dat gij uit Egypte hebt geleid is tot zonde vervallen. “Ze zijn nu al afgeweken van de weg die Ik hun had voorgeschreven : Ze hebben een stierenbeeld gemaakt, ze buigen zich daarvoor neer, ze dragen er offers voor op en schreeuwen : Israël, dit is de god die u uit Egypte heeft geleid.” Ook sprak de Heer tot Mozes : “Ik zie nu hoe halsstarrig dit volk is. “Laat Mij begaan, dan kan Ik hen in mijn brandende toorn vernietigen. “Maar van u zal Ik een groot volk maken.” Mozes trachtte de Heer, zijn God, gunstig te stemmen en vroeg: “Waarom Heer, uw toorn laten woeden tegen het volk dat Gij met grote kracht en sterke hand uit Egypte hebt geleid ? “Waarom de Egyptenaren laten honen : Hij heeft ze laten gaan met de boze opzet ze in de bergen te laten omkomen en ze van de aarde weg te vagen ? “Laat toch uw toorn niet langer tegen hen woeden. “Zie af van het onheil waarmee Gij uw volk bedreigt. “Denk aan uw dienaren Abraham, Isaäk en Israël, aan wie Gij onder ede beloofd hebt : Ik zal uw nageslacht talrijk maken als sterren aan de hemel, en heel het land waarover Ik heb gesproken, zal Ik uw nakomelingen voor altijd in bezit geven. “Het zal voor eeuwig hun erfdeel zijn.” Toen zag de Heer af van het onheil waarmee Hij zijn volk had bedreigd. TUSSENZANG                Ps. 106(105), 19-20, 21-22, 23 Vergeet mij niet, Heer, die uw volk welgezind zijt. Zij maakten een heilig kalf bij de Horeb en wierpen zich neer voor een gietsel van goud. Hun Glorie ruilden zij tegen een afgod, het beeld van een grasetend rund. Zij waren vergeten dat God hen gered had, Hij die in Egypte zijn macht had getoond ; die wonderdaden verricht had in Cham en bij de Rietzee verbazende dingen. Hij dacht er al aan hen los te laten toen Mozes, zijn vriend, tussenbeide kwam. Die pleitte voor hen om hen niet te verdelgen en wendde Gods toorn van hen af.   VERS VOOR HET EVANGELIE                Mt. 4,17 Bekeert u, zegt de Heer, want het Rijk der hemelen is nabij.   EVANGELIE                       Joh. 5, 31-47 Mozes, op wie gij uw hoop hebt gesteld, is het die u aanklaagt. Uit het heilig evangelie van onze Heer Jezus Christus volgens Johannes In die tijd sprak Jezus tot de Joden : “Als Ik over Mijzelf getuig, dan heeft mijn getuigenis geen waarde. “Er is een Ander die over Mij getuigt, en Ik weet dat de getuigenis die Hij over Mij aflegt geloofwaardig is. “Gij hebt een gezantschap naar Johannes gestuurd en deze heeft getuigd voor de waarheid. “Weliswaar behoef Ik de getuigenis van een mens niet, maar Ik zeg dit opdat gij gered zult worden. “Hij was de lamp, ontstoken om te verlichten, en een korte tijd hebt gij u in zijn licht willen verheugen. “De getuigenis echter die Ik bezit is waardevoller dan die van Johannes : Want het zijn juist de werken die de Vader Mij gegeven heeft om te volbrengen en die Ik ook volbreng, die van Mij getuigen, dat Ik door de Vader gezonden ben. “Ook de Vader zelf die Mij zond heeft getuigenis over Mij afgelegd. “Zijn stem hebt gij nimmer gehoord noch zijn gestalte gezien, en zijn woord hebt gij niet blijvend in u omdat gij Degene die Hij zond niet gelooft. “Gij onderzoekt de Schriften in de mening daarin eeuwig leven te vinden, maar juist deze getuigen over Mij. “En toch wilt gij niet tot Mij komen om het leven te vinden. “Ik zoek niet door de mensen geëerd te worden, maar Ik weet dat gij in uw hart geen liefde tot God hebt. “Ik ben gekomen in de naam van mijn Vader en toch aanvaardt gij Mij niet. “Komt een ander in zijn eigen naam dan zult gij hem wel aanvaarden. “Maar hoe zoudt gij ook kunnen geloven als gij van elkaar eer tracht te verwerven, terwijl gij de eer die van de enige God komt niet zoekt ? “Meent niet, dat Ik u bij de Vader zal aanklagen. “Er is al iemand die u aanklaagt : Mozes, op wie gij uw hoop hebt gesteld. “Want als ge Mozes zoudt geloven zoudt ge ook Mij geloven, want juist over Mij heeft hij geschreven. “Als ge niet gelooft wat hij schreef hoe zoudt ge dan geloven wat Ik spreek ?”

Over broederschap en sociale vriendschap

Het onvermijdelijke conflict 237. Vergeving en verzoening zijn thema’s van groot belang in het christendom en op verschillende manieren ook in andere godsdiensten. Het risico ligt in het niet voldoende begrijpen van de overtuigingen van de gelovigen en ze zo te presenteren dat ze uiteindelijk fatalisme, traagheid of onrechtvaardigheid of anders onverdraagzaamheid en geweld aanwakkeren. la lectura diaria del Evangelio?

Esta invitación es para compartir la alegría
del Evangelio con ustedes. Todos, sin excepción,
pueden experimentar esa alegría abriendo su corazón
al poder sanador de la palabra de Dios.

Consideración

La continuación de la lectura del Evangelio apunta al posible endurecimiento de la incredulidad.
Uno puede cerrarse a Dios. En contraste con esto está la primera lectura: un cambio de corazón siempre es posible. Moisés es el gran intercesor aquí y contrasta tres motivos con la ira de Dios.
– Tú sacaste al pueblo de Egipto. ¿Ahora los abandonarás?
– Los egipcios se regocijarán y se burlarán de ti
(esto también ocurre en otras partes del Antiguo Testamento).
– Finalmente, le recuerda a Dios su promesa y el Pacto.
Conclusión: Dios siempre empieza de nuevo con su pueblo, en el pasado y en el presente.

PRIMERA LECTURA            Éxodo 32:7-14
«Que el Señor perdone tus malas acciones».

Del libro del Éxodo

En aquel tiempo, el Señor habló a Moisés:
«Baja, porque el pueblo que sacaste de Egipto
se ha corrompido.
«Ya se han apartado
del camino que les ordené:
Han hecho un ídolo de un toro,
se inclinan ante él,
le ofrecen sacrificios y gritan:
Israel, este es el dios que te sacó de Egipto».
El Señor también habló con Moisés:
«Ahora veo lo obstinado que es este pueblo.
«Déjame,
así podré destruirlos en mi ardiente ira.
Pero te convertiré en una gran nación».
Moisés intentó apaciguar al Señor, su Dios, y le preguntó:
«¿Por qué, Señor, dejas que tu ira se desate contra el pueblo
al que has sacado de Egipto con gran poder y mano fuerte?
¿Por qué odiar a los egipcios?
Los ha dejado ir
con la mala intención de dejarlos perecer en las montañas
y borrarlos de la faz de la tierra?
«No dejes que tu ira se encienda más contra ellos.
»Aparta el desastre con el que amenazas a tu pueblo.
«Piensa en tus siervos Abraham, Isaac e Israel,
a quienes has jurado:
Haré que tus descendientes sean tan numerosos como las estrellas del cielo,
y les daré toda la tierra que he prometido,
para siempre,
y será su herencia eterna.
Entonces el Señor se arrepintió
el desastre con el que había amenazado a su pueblo.

No me olvides, Señor, que favoreces a tu pueblo.

El conflicto inevitable

237. El perdón y la reconciliación son temas de gran importancia en el
cristianismo y, de diferentes maneras, también en otras religiones.
El riesgo radica en no comprender suficientemente las convicciones de los
fieles y presentarlas de tal manera que acaben alimentando el fatalismo, la indolencia, la
injusticia o incluso la intolerancia y la violencia.

This invitation is to share the joy
of the gospel with you. Everyone, without exception,
can experience that joy by opening their heart
to the healing power of God’s word.

Consideration

The continuation of the Gospel reading points to the possible hardening of unbelief. One can close oneself off from God. In contrast to this is the first reading: a change of heart is always possible. Moses is the great intercessor here and he contrasts three motives with God’s wrath.
– You led the people out of Egypt. Will you now abandon them?
– The Egyptians will rejoice and mock you
(this also occurs elsewhere in the Old Testament).
– Finally, he reminds God of his promise and the Covenant.
Conclusion: God always starts over with his people, in the past and in the present.

FIRST READING                Exodus 32:7-14
‘Let the Lord forgive your evil doings.

From the Book of Exodus

At that time the Lord spoke to Moses:
’Go down, for the people you brought up out of Egypt
have been corrupted.
“They have already turned away
from the way I commanded them:
They have made an idol of a bull,
they bow down to it,
they offer sacrifices to it and cry:
Israel, this is the god who led you out of Egypt.‘
The Lord also spoke to Moses:
’I now see how stubborn this people is.
“Let me be,
then I can destroy them in my burning wrath.
‘But I will make you into a great nation.’
Moses tried to appease the Lord, his God, and asked:
‘Why, Lord, let your wrath rage against the people
that you have led with great power and strong hand out of Egypt?

237. Forgiveness and reconciliation are themes of great importance in
Christianity and, in different ways, in other religions as well.
The risk lies in not sufficiently understanding the convictions of the
faithful and presenting them in such a way that they end up fuelling fatalism, indolence,
injustice, or even intolerance and violence.

Consideración
La singularidad de Jesús y su relación con el Padre se desarrollan aún más después del acontecimiento con el cojo. Pero echemos un vistazo a la primera lectura. En una rica imaginería, habla del final del exilio, de la protección en el viaje de regreso, de la división de la tierra como en el momento de la entrada. En resumen, hay una clara alusión al primer Éxodo de Egipto. El último versículo en particular es conmovedor. «¿Puede una mujer olvidar a su niño, o dejar de querer al hijo de su vientre? Aunque ella lo olvide, yo no te olvidaré».

PRIMERA LECTURA:                    Isaías 49:8-15
Yo te formo y te convierto en el hombre del pacto para restaurar la tierra.

Del profeta Isaías:

Así dice el Señor:
«En el momento de mi favor te responderé;
en el día de la salvación te ayudaré.

El valor y el significado del perdón
236. Algunos prefieren no hablar de reconciliación,
creyendo que el conflicto, la violencia y la ruptura son
parte del funcionamiento normal de la sociedad. De hecho,
en todo grupo humano existen formas más o menos sutiles de luchas de poder
entre diferentes sectores. Otros afirman que reconocer el
perdón es lo mismo que renunciar al propio espacio, permitiendo
que otros controlen la situación. Por lo tanto, creen que es mejor
mantener un juego de poder que permita mantener las fuerzas en
equilibrio entre los diferentes grupos. Otros
creen que la reconciliación es algo para los débiles, que no son capaces de un
diálogo que llegue al fondo de las cosas, y por lo tanto eligen
escapar de los problemas ocultando las injusticias: no son capaces de
abordar los problemas y prefieren una paz falsa.

Consideration
The uniqueness of Jesus and his relationship with the Father are developed further after the event with the lame man. But let us look at the first reading. In rich imagery, it speaks of the end of the exile, of the protection on the return journey, of the division of the land as at the time of the entry. In short, there is a clear allusion to the first Exodus from Egypt. The last verse is particularly moving. ‘Can a woman forget her infant, or fail to cherish the son of her womb? Even these may forget, yet I will not forget you.’

FIRST READING           Isaiah 49:8-15
I will form you and make you the covenant man to restore the land.

From the Prophet Isaiah

Thus says the Lord:
‘At the time of my favour I will answer you;
on the day of salvation I will help you.
’I will form you and make you
to be the man of the covenant,

The value and meaning of forgiveness
236. Some prefer not to speak of reconciliation,
believing that conflict, violence and rupture are
part of the normal functioning of society. In fact,
in every human group there are more or less subtle forms of power struggles
between different sectors. Others claim that recognising
forgiveness is the same as relinquishing one’s own space, allowing
others to control the situation. Therefore, they believe it is better to
maintain a power play that makes it possible to keep the forces in
balance between the different groups. Still others
believe that reconciliation is something for the weak, who are not capable of a
dialogue that gets to the bottom of things, and therefore choose to
escape the problems by hiding the injustices: they are not capable of
tackling the problems and prefer a false peace.

Consideración
«Pero aquel día era sábado»: estas palabras provocan una discusión que continúa resonando a través de las lecturas en los días siguientes. El hombre enviado por Dios también actúa cuando sus acciones lo ponen en conflicto con el razonamiento humano y con la interpretación aceptada de la Ley. Debido al conflicto, nadie ve la increíble curación del hombre. En ambas lecturas, el agua desempeña un papel importante como fuerza curativa. En primer lugar, es importante señalar que el poder del agua proviene de Dios. Fluye desde el templo. También en el Evangelio, el enfermo no es curado por el poder milagroso del agua, sino por la palabra imperativa del propio Jesús: «Levántate, toma tu lecho y anda».

PRIMERA LECTURA:                 Ezequiel 47:1-9,12
Vi agua que brotaba del templo, y todos los que tocaban el agua quedaban salvos.

Del profeta Ezequiel

El ángel del Señor me llevó de vuelta
a la entrada del templo.
Allí vi agua que brotaba de debajo del umbral del templo
en dirección este:
porque la parte delantera del templo estaba orientada hacia el este.
El agua fluía por debajo del lado derecho del templo,
por el lado del altar.
Luego me condujo a través de la puerta norte y hacia afuera.
Me llevó por el lado este:
el agua fluía por debajo del lado derecho.
Luego tomó una regla plegable y
más lejos en dirección este.
Midió una distancia de mil codos
y luego me dejó atravesar el agua:
me llegaba hasta los tobillos.
De nuevo midió mil codos
y me dejó vadear el agua:

el agua era tan profunda que no se podía atravesar caminando,
sino solo nadando.
Entonces me preguntó:
«¿Ves eso, hijo de hombre?».
Luego me llevó de vuelta
a lo largo de la orilla del río.
Mientras me guiaba de vuelta, vi
que había
muchos árboles a ambos lados del río.
El ángel del Señor me dijo:
«El río fluye hacia la llanura del este,
y más adelante fluye hacia el Araba,
y luego desemboca en el Mar Salado
cuyas aguas se vuelven potables.
«Dondequiera que fluya el río
las criaturas acuáticas podrán vivir.
Habrá muchos peces
porque dondequiera que fluya el río
el agua será potable
y todo vivirá.
«En ambas orillas del río
crecerán todo tipo de árboles frutales
cuyas hojas no se marchitarán
y no se agotarán sus frutos;
porque los árboles darán fruto cada mes.
«Después de todo, se alimentan con el agua del templo.
«Los frutos servirán de alimento
y las hojas de medicina».

El Señor de los ejércitos está con nosotros;
el Dios de Jacob es nuestro refugio.

El Señor es nuestra fortaleza y nuestro refugio,
una ayuda muy presente en la angustia.
Por eso no temeremos, aunque
aunque los montes se hundan en el mar.

Un arroyo murmullante refresca la ciudad de Dios,
la santa morada del Altísimo.
Esa ciudad permanece firme, porque Dios está en ella,
Dios está a su lado al comenzar el día.

El Señor de los ejércitos celestiales está con nosotros,
un refugio seguro es nuestro Dios de Jacob.
Acércate y mira lo que ha hecho el Señor,
sus maravillosas obras en la tierra.

El hombre fue sanado al instante.

Del Santo Evangelio de nuestro Señor Jesucristo según
Juan

Mientras se celebraba una fiesta de los judíos
Jesús subió a Jerusalén.
Ahora bien, hay en Jerusalén una casa de baños, llamada en hebreo Betesda
y que tiene cinco pórticos.
En estos pórticos yacía siempre un gran número de cojos.
Había allí un hombre que llevaba treinta y ocho años inválido.
Jesús lo vio tendido allí
y, como sabía que llevaba mucho tiempo así, le dijo:
«¿Quieres curarte?».
El enfermo le respondió:
«Señor, no tengo a nadie que
me lleve hasta el estanque
cuando el agua se agita,
y mientras voy
otra persona entraría antes que yo».
Entonces Jesús le dijo:
«Levántate, toma tu camilla y anda».
Inmediatamente el hombre fue sanado.
Se levantó, tomó su camilla y anduvo.
Sin embargo, ese día era sábado
y los judíos le dijeron al hombre que había sido sanado:
«Es sábado,
no puedes llevar tu camilla».
Él respondió:
«El que me curó me dijo:
¡Recoge tu camilla y anda!».
Entonces le preguntaron:
«¿Quién es el hombre que te dijo:
¡Recoge tu camilla y anda!».
El hombre curado no sabía quién era,
porque Jesús se había retirado sin que nadie se diera cuenta
porque había mucha gente allí.
Más tarde, Jesús lo encontró en el templo y le dijo:
«¡Mira, ya estás curado!
«No peques más
para que no te suceda algo peor».
El hombre se fue y contó a los judíos
que había sido Jesús quien lo había curado.
Como Jesús hacía estas cosas en sábado
los judíos empezaron a perseguirlo.

235. Quienes pretenden llevar la paz a una sociedad
no deben olvidar que la inequidad y la falta de desarrollo humano integral
no permiten construir la paz.
Porque «sin igualdad de oportunidades, las diversas formas de agresión
y de guerra encontrarán un terreno fértil que tarde o temprano producirá una explosión.
Cuando la sociedad, ya sea local, nacional o
global, deja una parte de sí misma en la periferia, no habrá
programas políticos, ni fuerzas de seguridad ni sistemas de vigilancia
que puedan garantizar la paz indefinidamente. Cuando se trate de empezar
de nuevo, siempre será desde la perspectiva de los más desfavorecidos.
