Consideration
‘But that day was a Sabbath”: these words spark a discussion that continues to reverberate through the readings in the days that follow. The man sent from God also acts when his actions bring him into conflict with human reasoning and with the accepted interpretation of the Law. Because of the conflict, no one sees the man’s incredible healing. In both readings, water plays a major role as a healing force. First of all, it is important to note that the power of the water comes from God. It flows from the temple. In the gospel, too, the sick man is not healed by the miraculous power of the water, but by the commanding word of Jesus himself: ‘Get up, take your bed and walk.’

FIRST READING:                 Ezekiel 47:1-9,12
I saw water flowing out from the temple, and everyone who touched the water was saved.

From the Prophet Ezekiel
The angel of the Lord brought me back
to the entrance of the temple.
There I saw water flowing from under the threshold of the temple
in an easterly direction:
for the front of the temple faced east.
The water flowed under the right side of the temple,
on the side of the altar.
Then he led me through the north gate and out.
He led me around to the east side:
the water flowed under the right side.
Then he took a folding rule and
further in an easterly direction.
He measured a distance of a thousand ells
and then let me step through the water :
it reached up to my ankles.
Again he measured a thousand ells
and let me wade through the water :
it came up to my knees;
and he measured another thousand ells
and let me wade through the water again :
now it came up to my waist.
When he had measured another thousand cubits
the water had become a river
that I could no longer wade through;
the water was so deep that one could not get through it by walking,
but only by swimming.
Then he asked me:
‘Do you see that, child of man?’
Then he led me back
along the riverbank.
As he led me back, I saw
that there were
many trees on both banks of the river.
The angel of the Lord said to me:
“The river flows to the plain in the east,
and further on it flows to the Araba,
and then it flows into the Salt Sea
whose water becomes drinkable.
‘Wherever the river flows
the water creatures will be able to live.
There will be many fish
because wherever the river flows
the water will be drinkable
and everything will live.
“On both banks of the river
all kinds of fruit trees will grow
whose leaves will not wither
and the fruit will not run out ;
for the trees will bear fruit every month.
‘After all, they are fed with water from the temple.
’The fruit will serve as food
and the leaves as medicine.’

The Lord of hosts is with us;
the God of Jacob is our refuge.

The Lord is our stronghold and our refuge,
a very present help in trouble.
Therefore we will not fear, even though
though the mountains should fall into the sea.

A babbling brook refreshes the city of God,
the holy habitation of the Most High.
That city stands firm, for God is within it,
God is at its side as the day begins.

The Lord of the heavenly armies is with us,
a safe stronghold is our Jacob’s God.
Come closer and see what the Lord has done,
his marvellous works on earth.

The man was instantly healed.

While a festival of the Jews was taking place
Jesus went up to Jerusalem.
Now there is a bathhouse in Jerusalem, at the Sheep Gate,
which in Hebrew is called Bezeta
and has five colonnades.
In these colonnades there always lay a large number of cripples.
Now there was a man there who had been crippled for thirty-eight years.
Jesus saw him lying there
and, since he knew that he had been there a long time, he said to him,
‘Do you want to get well?’
The sick man answered him,
“Sir, I have no one to
carry me to the pool
when the water is stirred up,
and while I am going
another person would go in before me.‘
Then Jesus said to him:
’Get up, take your bed and walk.‘
Immediately the man was healed.
He got up, took his bed and walked.
However, that day was the Sabbath
and so the Jews said to the man who was healed,
’It is the Sabbath,
you cannot carry your bed.”
He replied:
‘The one who made me well said to me:
Pick up your bed and walk!‘
So they asked him:
’Who is the man who said to you:
Pick up your bed and walk?”
The healed man did not know who it was,
because Jesus had withdrawn unnoticed
because there were many people there.
Later Jesus found him in the temple and spoke to him:
‘See, you are healed now!
‘Sin no more
lest something worse befall you.’
The man went away and told the Jews
that it was Jesus who had healed him.
Because Jesus did such things on the Sabbath
the Jews began to persecute him.

On fraternity and social friendship

235. Those who claim to bring peace to a society
must not forget that inequality and the lack of integral human
development do not make peace possible.
After all, ‘without equal opportunities, the different forms of aggression
and war will find a fertile ground that sooner or later will cause an explosion.
When society – whether local, national or
global – leaves part of itself on the periphery, there will be
no political programmes, no security forces or surveillance systems
that can guarantee peace indefinitely. When it comes to starting
over, it will always be from the perspective of the least of us.

Consideración
Hoy marca el comienzo del tiempo de Juan, durante muchas semanas. Escuchamos una historia típicamente joánica con un doble significado: la curación de una persona enferma. La curación física se refiere a lo más profundo, lo espiritual. La fe da vida, pero no solo vida física, sino también vida espiritual: otorga vida eterna. Queda claro que Jesús rechaza cualquier sensación que rodee sus acciones. La sensación no conduce a la fe. Anhelar milagros no es saludable. La verdadera fe mira a través de la señal hasta el nivel más profundo: ¿quién es Jesús en su esencia? La respuesta fiel es: el ungido, el Hijo del Padre.
¿Quién es Él en su esencia para mí?

PRIMERA LECTURA             Isaías 65:17-21
Ya no se oirán más gritos ni llantos.

Del profeta Isaías
Así dice el Señor:
«En aquellos días crearé
un nuevo cielo
y una nueva tierra.
«Las cosas anteriores
no serán recordadas
y ya no se le ocurrirá al corazón,
pero se deleitará y se regocijará,
para siempre, por lo que crearé.
«Porque haré de Jerusalén un deleite
y la gloria de su pueblo.
«Me deleitaré con Jerusalén

234. Con frecuencia, los más pequeños son ofendidos por generalizaciones injustas.
Cuando los pobres y los excluidos reaccionan con una
actitud que parece antisocial, es importante comprender que en muchos casos
estas reacciones son el resultado de una historia de desprecio
y una falta de inclusión social. Como han enseñado los
obispos latinoamericanos, «solo la cercanía que nos hace amigos
nos permite apreciar profundamente los valores de los pobres de hoy,
sus deseos legítimos y su forma específica de experimentar la
fe. La opción por los pobres debe llevarnos a la amistad con
los pobres».

Consideration
Today marks the beginning of the time of John, for many weeks to come. We listen to a typically Johannine story with a double meaning: the healing of a sick person. The physical healing refers to the deeper, the spiritual. Faith brings life, but not only physical life, but also spiritual life: it bestows eternal life. In verse 48 it becomes clear that Jesus rejects any sensation surrounding his actions. Sensation does not lead to faith. Longing for miracles is not healthy. True faith looks through the sign to the deepest level: who is Jesus at his core? The faithful answer is: the anointed one, the Son of the Father.
Who is He to me at heart?

FIRST READING               Isaiah 65:17-21
The sound of weeping and the sound of crying will be heard no more.

From the prophet Isaiah
Thus says the Lord:
‘In those days I will create
a new heaven
and a new earth.
’The former things
will not be remembered
and it will not come into the heart,
but you will be delighted and rejoice,
always, for what I then create.
‘For I will make Jerusalem a delight
and a glory of its people.
’I will be delighted with Jerusalem
and elated over my people.
“The sound of weeping, the sound of crying
will never be heard there again.
‘There will be no more children
who die after only a few days,
and there will be no more old men
who do not live out their days.
’For there, people die young,
even if they live to be a hundred years old,
and those who do not reach a hundred
will be cursed.
‘Then they build houses and move in,
they plant vines and eat their fruit.”
Thus speaks the almighty Lord.

he went to him and asked him
to come and heal his son,
who was at the point of death.
‘If you do not see signs and wonders,‘
Jesus said to him,
’you will not believe.‘
The official said,
’Sir, come down before
my child dies.‘
Jesus said to him,
’Go; your son will live.”
The man believed the word that Jesus spoke to him and started on his way.
As he was still on the way, his slaves met him with the news
with the message that his child was alive.
He asked them at what hour the child had recovered
and they said to him:
‘Yesterday, at the seventh hour, the fever left him.’
Then the father realised
that it had happened at the very hour when Jesus had said:
Your son will live.
He himself and all his family believed.

This is the second sign that Jesus did
after coming from Judea to Galilee.

On fraternity and social friendship

234. Often, the least of society are
offended by unjust generalisations. When the poorest and the outcast react with an
attitude that seems anti-social, it is important to understand that these
reactions often depend on a history of contempt
and a lack of social inclusion. As the Latin American
bishops have taught, ‘only the closeness that makes us friends
enables us to deeply appreciate the values of the poor today,
their legitimate desires and their specific way of experiencing
faith. The option for the poor must bring us to friendship with
the poor.

Deze uitnodiging wil U deelgenoot maken aan de vreugde
van het evangelie. Iedereen, niemand uitgezonderd,
kan die vreugde ervaren door zijn hart open te stellen
voor de genezende werking van Gods woord.

Openingswoord

Jezus vertelt ons vandaag de gelijkenis van de barmhartige vader.
In de liefde van de vader voor zijn beide zonen
herkennen we Gods onvoorwaardelijke liefde voor alle mensen.
God wacht ook ons geduldig op
en wil ons zijn liefde toezeggen.
De actie van Broederlijk Delen nodigt ons uit
om Gods liefde niet voor onszelf te houden,
maar deze te delen met wie niet meetellen in deze wereld.
Laten we groeien in solidariteit en verbondenheid
met onze broers en zussen in het Zuiden.
God wil immers al zijn kinderen met elkaar verzoenen
en samenbrengen rond de tafel op het grote feest van Pasen.

EERSTE LEZING                       Joz. 5, 9a.10-12

Toen het volk van God in het beloofde land binnengegaan was, vierde het daar het paasfeest.

Uit het boek Jozua

In die dagen sprak de Heer tot Jozua:
“Vandaag heb Ik de smaad van Egypte van u afgewenteld!”

Terwijl de Israëlieten in Gilgal gelegerd waren,
vierden zij het paasfeest op de veertiende dag van de maand,
in de avond in de vlakte van Jericho.
En daags na Pasen, juist op die dag,
aten zij ongezuurd brood en geroosterd graan
dat van het land zelf afkomstig was.
De volgende dag hield het manna op;
ze konden nu eten wat het land voortbracht.
Voortaan kregen de Israëlieten geen manna meer;
zij aten gedurende heel het jaar wat Kanaän voortbracht.

Keervers
Proeft en merkt op hoe mild de Heer is.

De Heer zal ik prijzen iedere dag,

God heeft ons door Christus met zich verzoend.

Uit de tweede brief van de heilige apostel Paulus aan de christenen
van Korinte

Wie in Christus is, is een nieuwe schepping:
Het oude is voorbij, het nieuwe is gekomen.
En dit alles komt van God.
Hij heeft ons door Christus met zich verzoend
en ons de dienst van die verzoening toevertrouwd.
Ja, God was het
die in Christus de wereld met zich verzoende:
Hij telde de fouten van de mensen niet
en ons gaf Hij de boodschap van de verzoening mee.

Wij zijn dus gezanten van Christus,
God roept u op door ons woord.
Wij smeken u in Christus’ naam:
Laat u met God verzoenen!
Hem die geen zonde heeft gekend,
heeft Hij voor ons tot zonde gemaakt,
opdat wij door Hem Gods eigen heiligheid zouden worden.

tollenaars en zondaars van allerlei slag bij Jezus
om naar Hem te luisteren.
De Farizeeën en de schriftgeleerden morden daarover en zeiden :
“Die man ontvangt zondaars en eet met hen.”
Hij hield hun deze gelijkenis voor :
“Een man had twee zonen.
“Nu zei de jongste van hen tot zijn vader:
Vader geef mij het deel van het bezit waarop ik recht heb.
“En hij verdeelde zijn vermogen onder hen.
“Niet lang daarna pakte de jongste zoon alles bij elkaar
en vertrok naar een ver land.
“Daar verkwistte hij zijn bezit in een losbandig leven.
“Toen hij alles opgemaakt had
kwam er een verschrikkelijke hongersnood over dat land
en hij begon gebrek te lijden.
“Nu ging hij in dienst bij een der inwoners van dat land
die hem het veld instuurde om varkens te hoeden.
“En al had hij graag zijn buik willen vullen
met de schillen die de varkens aten,
niemand gaf ze hem.
“Toen kwam hij tot nadenken en zei :
Hoeveel dagloners van mijn vader hebben eten in overvloed,
en ik verga hier van de honger.
“Ik ga weer naar mijn vader
en ik zal hem zeggen :
Vader, ik heb misdaan tegen de hemel en tegen u;
ik ben niet meer waard uw zoon te heten
maar neem mij aan als een van uw dagloners.
“Hij ging dus op weg naar zijn vader.
“Zijn vader zag hem al in de verte aankomen
en hij werd door medelijden bewogen ;
hij snelde op hem toe
viel hem om de hals en kuste hem hartelijk.
“Maar de zoon zei tot hem :
Vader, ik heb misdaan tegen de hemel en tegen u;
ik ben niet meer waard uw zoon te heten.
“Doch de vader gelastte zijn knechten :
Haalt vlug het mooiste kleed en trekt het hem aan,

want deze zoon van mij was dood en is weer levend geworden,

hoorde hij muziek en dans.

en vroeg wat dat te betekenen had.

Uw broer is thuisgekomen
en uw vader heeft het gemeste kalf laten slachten
omdat hij hem gezond en wel heeft teruggekregen.
“Maar hij werd kwaad en wilde niet naar binnen.
“Toen zijn vader naar buiten kwam en bij hem aandrong
gaf hij zijn vader ten antwoord :
Al zoveel jaren dien ik u en nooit heb ik uw geboden overtreden,
toch hebt gij mij nooit een bokje gegeven
om eens met mijn vrienden feest te vieren.
“En nu die zoon van u is gekomen
die uw vermogen heeft verbrast met slechte vrouwen,
hebt ge voor hem het gemeste kalf laten slachten.
“Toen antwoordde de vader :
Jongen, jij bent altijd bij me
en alles wat van mij is is ook van jou.
“Maar er moet feest en vrolijkheid zijn,
omdat die broer van je dood was en levend is geworden,
verloren was en is teruggevonden.”

Over broederschap en sociale vriendschap

Vooral de minsten
233. Het bevorderen van de sociale vriendschap impliceert niet alleen de
toenadering tussen maatschappelijke groeperingen die door een historische
conflictperiode ver van elkaar af staan, maar ook het zoeken naar een
vernieuwde ontmoeting met de meest verarmde en kwetsbare sectoren.
Vrede “is niet alleen afwezigheid van oorlog, maar de onvermoeibare inzet
– vooral van degenen onder ons die een functie met een grotere
verantwoordelijkheid hebben – om de vaak vergeten of genegeerde waardigheid
van onze broeders en zusters te erkennen, te garanderen en concreet weer
te herstellen, opdat zij zich hoofdrolspelers in het lot van hun eigen natie
kunnen voelen”.

Iniciales Jesús nos cuenta hoy la parábola del padre misericordioso.
En el amor del padre por sus dos hijos
reconocemos el amor incondicional de Dios por todas las personas.
Dios también nos espera pacientemente

La labor de Fraternal Participar nos invita
a no quedarnos con el amor de Dios para nosotros,
sino a compartirlo con aquellos que no cuentan en este mundo.
Crezcamos en solidaridad y conexión
con nuestros hermanos y hermanas del Sur.
Después de todo, Dios quiere reconciliar a todos sus hijos

y nos confió el ministerio de la reconciliación.
Porque es Dios
quien, en Cristo, reconcilió al mundo consigo mismo
sin tomar en cuenta los pecados de las personas
y confiándonos el mensaje de la reconciliación.

Por lo tanto, somos embajadores de Cristo,
como si Dios apelara a través de nosotros.

la reconciliación entre grupos sociales muy distanciados por períodos de
conflicto histórico, sino también la búsqueda de un renovado encuentro
con los sectores más empobrecidos y vulnerables.
La paz «no es solo la ausencia de guerra, sino también
el compromiso incansable,
especialmente de aquellos de nosotros que tenemos una
posición de mayor responsabilidad, de reconocer, garantizar
y restaurar concretamente
la dignidad a menudo olvidada o ignorada de nuestros
hermanos y hermanas,
para que puedan sentirse protagonistas en el destino de su propia nación.

Jesus tells us today the parable of the merciful father.

we recognise God’s unconditional love for all people.

not to keep God’s love for ourselves,
but to share it with those who do not count in this world.
Let us grow in solidarity and connection
with our brothers and sisters in the South.
After all, God wants to reconcile all his children
and bring them together around the table at the great feast of Easter.

233. Fostering social friendship involves not only
reconciliation between social groups far apart due to periods of historical
conflict, but also the pursuit of renewed encounter with the most impoverished
and vulnerable sectors.
Peace ‘is not only the absence of war but also the tireless commitment
– especially of those of us who have a position of greater responsibility –
to recognise, guarantee and concretely restore
the often forgotten or ignored dignity of our brothers and sisters,
so that they can feel like protagonists in the fate of their own nation.

De teksten van vandaag gaan verder op de kerngedachte van de lezingen van gisteren: God beminnen en de naaste beminnen als zichzelf, dat gaat boven alle brand- en slachtoffers. Bij Hosea klinkt het: ‘Vroomheid wens ik, geen offergaven, en liefde voor God méér dan brandoffers’ . Psalm 51 gaat erop door: ‘Wat ik offer, God, is mijn boetvaardigheid, een vermorzeld en vernederd hart wijst Gij niet af’. Met die houding staat de tollenaar uit het evangelie voor God als hij zegt: ‘God, wees mij zondaar genadig’. Ook wij vragen het telkens opnieuw: Kyrie eleison.

 

EERSTE LEZING                  Hos. 6, 1-6

Vroomheid wens Ik, geen offergaven.

Uit de Profeet Hosea

Zo spreekt de Heer :
“In zijn ellende
zal mijn volk Mij zoeken van de vroege morgen af
en zeggen :
“Kom, laten we terugkeren tot de Heer ;
Hij heeft ons verscheurd, Hij zal ons ook genezen ;
Hij heeft wonden geslagen, Hij zal ze ook verbinden.

Over broederschap en sociale vriendschap

232. Er is geen eindpunt in de opbouw van de sociale vrede van een
land, maar het is veeleer “een taak die geen rustpauze toelaat en die de
inzet van allen vereist. Een werk dat erom vraagt niet af te laten in de
inspanning voor de opbouw van de eenheid van de natie en ondanks de
obstakels, de verschillen en de uiteenlopende benaderingen betreffende de
manier waarop men tot een vreedzame samenleving kan komen, te volharden
in de strijd om de cultuur van ontmoeting te bevorderen, die vereist
dat de menselijke persoon, zijn zeer hoge waardigheid en het respect voor
het gemeenschappelijk welzijn in het middelpunt van iedere politieke,
sociale en economische activiteit geplaatst worden. Moge deze
krachtsinspanning ons weerhouden van iedere verleiding om wraak te nemen en
alleen particuliere belangen en korte termijn belangen na te streven”.
Gewelddadige publieke manifestaties van de ene en de andere kant helpen
niet om een uitweg te vinden, vooral omdat, zoals de bisschoppen van
Colombia terecht hebben opgemerkt, wanneer “mobilisaties van de bevolking”
worden aangemoedigd, hun oorsprong en doelstellingen niet altijd
duidelijk naar voren komen, er bepaalde vormen van politieke manipulatie
zijn en men vormen van toe-eigening ten gunste van particuliere belangen
tegenkomt”.

Consideración.

Los textos de hoy amplían la idea central de las lecturas de ayer: amar a Dios y amar al prójimo como a uno mismo es más importante que todos los incendios y las víctimas. En Oseas leemos: «Quiero misericordia y no sacrificio, conocimiento de Dios más que holocaustos». El Salmo 51 sigue en la misma línea: «Dios, mi sacrificio es un espíritu quebrantado; un corazón contrito y humillado no despreciarás». El recaudador de impuestos del Evangelio tiene esta misma actitud cuando le dice a Dios: «Dios, ten piedad de mí, que soy pecador». Nosotros también pedimos una y otra vez: Kyrie eleison.

Deseo misericordia, no sacrificios.

Del profeta Oseas

Así dice el Señor:
«En su aflicción
mi pueblo me buscará desde la mañana temprano

Sobre la fraternidad y la amistad social

232. La construcción de la paz social de un país no tiene un punto
de llegada, sino que es «una tarea que no admite pausas y que
compromiso de todos. Una tarea que exige esfuerzos incansables
para construir una nación unida y, a pesar de los
obstáculos, las diferencias y los diversos enfoques de la
forma de lograr una sociedad pacífica, perseverancia
en la lucha por promover una cultura del encuentro, que requiere
que la persona humana, su altísima dignidad y el respeto por
el bien común se sitúen en el centro de toda actividad política,
social y económica. Que este
esfuerzo de fuerza nos libre de cualquier tentación de venganza y
perseguir solo intereses privados y a corto plazo.
Las manifestaciones públicas violentas de ambas partes no
ayudar a encontrar una salida, sobre todo porque, como han señalado
acertadamente los obispos de
Colombia, cuando se fomentan las «movilizaciones de la población»,
su origen y objetivos no siempre
quedan claros, hay ciertas formas de manipulación política
y se encuentran formas de apropiación en favor de intereses privados.

In Hosea we read: ‘I desire steadfast love and not sacrifice, the knowledge of God more than burnt offerings’. Psalm 51 continues along the same lines: ‘My sacrifice, God, is a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart you will not despise’. The tax collector from the gospel has this same attitude when he says to God: ‘God, be merciful to me a sinner’. We too ask again and again: Kyrie eleison.

On fraternity and social friendship

232. There is no endpoint in the construction of the social peace of a
country, but rather it is ’a task that does not allow for a resting period and that
commitment of all. A task that demands unrelenting
efforts to build a united nation and, despite the
obstacles, the differences and the varying approaches to the
way to achieve a peaceful society, perseverance
in the struggle to promote a culture of encounter, which requires
that the human person, his or her very high dignity and respect for
the common good be placed at the centre of every political,
social and economic activity. May this
effort of strength keep us from any temptation to take revenge and
pursue only private and short-term interests.
Violent public demonstrations on both sides do not
help to find a way out, especially because, as the bishops of
Colombia have rightly pointed out, when ‘mobilisations of the
population’ are encouraged, their origin and objectives do not always
clearly emerge, there are certain forms of political manipulation
and one encounters forms of appropriation in favour of private interests.

Esta invitación es para compartir la alegría
del Evangelio con ustedes. Todos, sin excepción,
pueden experimentar esa alegría abriendo su corazón
al poder sanador de la palabra de Dios.

Consideración
Seguir a Cristo es seguirlo en su amor y entrega total al Padre, y en su entrega a sus semejantes. Esta parte del Evangelio expresa para nosotros lo que es esencialmente cristiano. Ha sido una tentación peligrosa y ancestral para los cristianos separar estos dos aspectos. Después de todo, deberían estar inextricablemente unidos. El amor al prójimo sin amor a Dios es puro humanismo. El amor a Dios sin amor al prójimo es un insulto a Dios, para quien cada ser humano es único. Si mantenemos ese equilibrio, tal vez las palabras que se nos dirijan sean: No estás lejos del reino de Dios.

PRIMERA LECTURA             Oseas 14:2-10
Ya no diremos a la obra de nuestras manos: «¡Tú eres nuestro dios!»

Así dice el Señor:
«Vuelve, oh Israel, al Señor tu Dios,
porque has tropezado con tu culpa.
«Ven con tus palabras como un regalo,
arrepentido ante el Señor y dile:
Tú perdonas toda culpa;
acepta también nuestra buena voluntad:
Daremos nuestras palabras como animales de sacrificio.

«¡Escucha, Israel!
«El Señor nuestro Dios es el único Señor.
«Amarás al Señor tu Dios con todo tu corazón,
con toda tu alma, con toda tu mente y con todas tus fuerzas.
«El segundo es este:
Amarás a tu prójimo como a ti mismo.
«No hay otro mandamiento mayor que estos».
Entonces el escriba le dijo:
«Maestro, has dicho la verdad:
hay un solo Dios, y no hay otro fuera de Él;
y amarlo con todo el corazón,
con todo el entendimiento y con todas las fuerzas,
y amar al prójimo como a uno mismo
vale más que todos los holocaustos y sacrificios».
Al ver que había hablado con sabiduría, Jesús le dijo:
«No estás lejos del reino de Dios».

Sobre la fraternidad y la amistad social

231. A menudo hay una gran necesidad de negociar y, por lo tanto, de desarrollar
caminos concretos hacia la paz. Sin embargo, los procesos reales de
paz sostenible son principalmente cambios trabajados por los pueblos,
en los que cada persona, con su estilo de vida cotidiano, puede ser una verdadera
levadura. Los grandes cambios no se producen detrás de un escritorio o en
un estudio. Por eso «todos desempeñan un papel fundamental en
un proyecto creativo para escribir una nueva página en la historia,
una página llena de esperanza, llena de paz, llena de reconciliación».
Existe una «arquitectura» de paz en la que las diversas instituciones de la sociedad
contribuyen cada una según sus propias competencias,
pero también hay una «elaboración artesanal» de la paz en la que todos
estamos involucrados.
Basándonos en los diversos procesos de paz que se están desarrollando en
diferentes partes del mundo, «hemos aprendido que
estas formas de establecer la paz, de la primacía de la razón sobre la
venganza, de una delicada armonía entre la política y la justicia, no pueden
ignorar la participación de la gente. El diseño de marcos normativos
y acuerdos institucionales entre grupos políticos y económicos
de buena voluntad no es suficiente. […] Además, siempre es valioso
incluir la experiencia de sectores que a menudo han sido invisibilizados
en nuestros procesos de paz, para que sean precisamente las
comunidades las que colorean los procesos de la memoria colectiva.
