Pasen is het belangrijkste christelijke feest. Christenen vieren
vanuit hun geloof dat Jezus uit de dood is opgestaan

Uitnodiging

Mag ik hiermee Uw aandacht vragen voor
het dagelijks lezen van het Evangelie?

Deze uitnodiging wil U deelgenoot maken aan de vreugde
van het evangelie. Iedereen, niemand uitgezonderd,
kan die vreugde ervaren door zijn hart open te stellen
voor de genezende werking van Gods woord.

Overweging
Het is niet ondenkbaar dat een aantal van de toehoorders die nu naar Petrus luisteren, geen graten zag in de veroordeling van Jezus door Pontius Pilatus. Petrus roept op tot een gewetensonderzoek. Het is de Heer zelf die men gekruisigd heeft! Deze formulering is bijzonder. Voorheen was Jezus voor de leerlingen een bijzondere man, een profeet. De verrijzenis heeft voor een keerpunt gezorgd: Jezus was inderdaad de Heer! Dan dringt het door bij de toehoorders, en vragen zij zich af hoe het zo ver kon komen. Zo gaat het ook in ons leven: We doen soms het kwade en realiseren ons pas achteraf wat dat voor anderen heeft betekend. Het Pasen van de Heer biedt ons de kans om ons bewust te worden van deze zonden, maar ook: Om te beseffen hoe onvoorstelbaar groot Jezus’ liefde is dat Hij voor ons zo’n hoge prijs heeft betaald.

 

EERSTE LEZING          Hand. 2, 36-41

Bekeert u en ieder van u late zich dopen in de naam van Jezus.

Uit de Handelingen van de Apostelen

Op Pinksteren sprak Petrus tot de Joden :
“Voor heel het huis van Israël moet dus onomstotelijk vaststaan
dat God Jezus èn Heer èn Christus heeft gemaakt,
Hem die gij gekruisigd hebt.”
Toen zij dit hoorden waren zij diep getroffen
en zeiden tot Petrus en de overige apostelen :
“Wat moeten we doen, mannen broeders ?”
Petrus gaf hun ten antwoord :
“Bekeert u
en ieder van u late zich dopen
in de naam van Jezus Christus
tot vergeving van uw zonden :
Dan zult gij als gave de heilige Geest ontvangen.
“Want die belofte geldt u,
uw kinderen
en allen die verre zijn,
zovelen de Heer onze God roepen zal.”
Met nog vele andere woorden legde hij getuigenis af
en hij vermaande hen :
“Redt u uit dit ontaarde geslacht.”
Die zijn woord aannamen lieten zich dopen
zodat op die dag ongeveer drieduizend mensen zich aansloten.

TUSSENZANG         Ps. 33(32), 4-5, 18-19, 20, 22

De aarde is vol van de mildheid des Heren.
of: Alleluia.

Oprecht is het woord van de Heer
en al wat Hij doet is betrouwbaar.
Recht en gerechtigheid heeft Hij lief,
de aarde is vol van zijn mildheid.

God is het die zijn dienaars bewaakt,
hen die op zijn gunst vertrouwen.
Dat Hij hen redden zal van de dood,
bij hongersnood hen zal voeden.

Daarom vertrouwt ons hart op de Heer,
is Hij ons een schild en een helper.
Geef ons dus, Heer, uw barmhartigheid,
zoals wij op U vertrouwen.

Dit is de dag, die de Heer heeft gemaakt,
wij zullen hem vieren in blijdschap.

Laat ons ’t Lam van Pasen loven,

Christus brengt door zijn onschuld
ons arme zondaren tot de Vader.
Dood en leven, o wonder,

Die stierf, Hij leeft, Hij is onze Koning.
Zeg het ons, Maria,
wat is ’t dat gij gezien hebt ?
Het graf van Christus dat leeg was,

Ik heb de Heer gezien en dit heeft Hij mij gezegd.

Uit het heilig evangelie van onze Heer Jezus Christus volgens
Johannes

In die tijd stond Maria buiten bij het graf te schreien.
En al schreiend boog zij zich naar het graf toe
en zag op de plaats waar Jezus’ lichaam gelegen had,
twee in het wit geklede engelen zitten,
een aan het hoofdeinde en een aan het voeteneinde.
Zij spraken haar aan :
“Vrouw waarom schreit ge ?”
Zij antwoordde :
“Zij hebben mijn Heer weggenomen
en ik weet niet waar zij Hem hebben neergelegd.”
Toe zij dit gezegd had keerde zij zich om
en zag Jezus staan, maar zonder te weten dat het Jezus was.
Jezus zei tot haar :
“Vrouw, waarom schreit ge ?
“Wie zoekt ge ?”
In de mening dat het de tuinman was vroeg zij :
“Heer, mocht gij Hem hebben weggebracht
zeg mij dan waar ge Hem hebt neergelegd
zodat ik Hem kan weghalen.”
Daarop zei Jezus haar :
“Maria !”
Zij keerde zich om en zei tot Hem in het Hebreeuws :
“Rabboeni !”
wat leraar betekent.
Toen sprak Jezus :
“Houd Mij niet vast
want Ik ben nog niet opgestegen naar mijn Vader,
maar ga naar mijn broeders en zeg hun :
Ik stijg op naar mijn Vader en uw Vader,
naar mijn God en uw God.”
Maria Magdalena ging aan de leerlingen berichten
dat zij de Heer gezien had,
en wat Hij haar gezegd had.

Over de zorg voor het gemeenschappelijk huis

 

79. In dit heelal, dat bestaat uit open systemen die met elkaar in verbinding
treden, kunnen wij ontelbare vormen van relatie en deelname
ontdekken. Dit brengt ons er ook toe aan het geheel te denken als openstaand
voor de transcendentie van God, waarbinnen het zich ontwikkelt.
Het geloof maakt het ons mogelijk de betekenis en de mysterieuze schoonheid
te interpreteren van wat er gebeurt. De menselijke vrijheid kan haar
intelligente bijdrage leveren aan een positieve evolutie, maar kan ook
nieuw kwaad toevoegen, nieuwe oorzaken van lijden en ware achteruitgang.
Dit bepaalt de opwindende en dramatische geschiedenis van de
mens, die zowel een bloei van bevrijding, groei, redding en liefde als een
traject van verval en wederzijdse verwoesting laat zien. Daarom tracht het
handelen van de Kerk niet alleen aan de plicht te herinneren te zorgen
voor de natuur, maar tegelijkertijd “moet zij vooral de mens beschermen
tegen de vernietiging van zichzelf”.

a la acción sanadora de la palabra de Dios.

Consideración
No es descabellado pensar que algunos de los oyentes que ahora escuchan a Pedro no vieran ningún problema en la condena de Jesús por parte de Poncio Pilato. Pedro exhorta a un examen de conciencia. ¡Es al Señor mismo a quien han crucificado! Esta formulación es especial. Antes, Jesús era para los discípulos un hombre especial, un profeta. La resurrección supuso un punto de inflexión: ¡Jesús era, en efecto, el Señor! Entonces los oyentes se dan cuenta y se preguntan cómo se pudo llegar a tal extremo. Lo mismo ocurre en nuestra vida: a veces hacemos el mal y solo después nos damos cuenta de lo que eso ha significado para los demás. La Pascua del Señor nos ofrece la oportunidad de tomar conciencia de estos pecados, pero también de comprender cuán inconmensurable es el amor de Jesús, que pagó por nosotros un precio tan alto.

PRIMERA LECTURA                     Hch 2, 36-41

Convertíos y que cada uno de vosotros sea bautizado en el nombre de Jesús.

De los Hechos de los Apóstoles

En Pentecostés, Pedro dijo a los judíos:
«Que quede claro, pues, para toda la casa de Israel,
que Dios ha hecho Señor y Cristo a Jesús,
a aquel a quien vosotros crucificasteis».
Al oír esto, se sintieron profundamente conmovidos
y dijeron a Pedro y a los demás apóstoles:
«¿Qué debemos hacer, hermanos?»
Pedro les respondió:
«Arrepentíos
y que cada uno de vosotros sea bautizado
en el nombre de Jesucristo
para el perdón de vuestros pecados:
Entonces recibiréis como don el Espíritu Santo.
«Porque esta promesa es para vosotros,

y no sé dónde lo han puesto».
Cuando hubo dicho esto, se volvió;
y vio a Jesús de pie, pero sin saber que era Jesús.
Jesús le dijo:
«Mujer, ¿por qué lloras?
¿A quién buscas?»
Pensando que era el jardinero, le preguntó:
«Señor, si tú lo has llevado,

Sobre el cuidado de la casa común

79. En este universo, compuesto por sistemas abiertos que se interconectan,
podemos descubrir innumerables formas de relación y participación.
Esto nos lleva también a pensar en el todo como abierto
a la trascendencia de Dios, en la que se desarrolla.
La fe nos permite interpretar el significado y la misteriosa belleza
de lo que ocurre. La libertad humana puede aportar su
contribución inteligente a una evolución positiva, pero también puede
añadir nuevos males, nuevas causas de sufrimiento y un verdadero retroceso.
Esto determina la apasionante y dramática historia del ser humano,
que muestra tanto un florecimiento de liberación, crecimiento, salvación y amor como un
recorrido de decadencia y destrucción mutua. Por eso, la acción de la Iglesia
no solo pretende recordar el deber de cuidar
de la naturaleza, sino que, al mismo tiempo, «debe sobre todo proteger al ser humano
de la autodestrucción»

Consideration
It is not inconceivable that some of those listening to Peter now had no qualms about Pontius Pilate’s condemnation of Jesus. Peter calls for an examination of conscience. It is the Lord himself whom they have crucified! This wording is remarkable. Previously, Jesus had been a remarkable man to the disciples, a prophet. The Resurrection marked a turning point: Jesus was indeed the Lord! Then it dawns on the listeners, and they wonder how things could have come to this. So it is in our lives too: we sometimes do wrong and only realise afterwards what that has meant for others. The Lord’s Easter offers us the chance to become aware of these sins, but also: to realise how unimaginably great Jesus’ love is that He paid such a high price for us.

FIRST READING                    Acts 2, 36–41

Repent, and let every one of you be baptised in the name of Jesus.

From the Acts of the Apostles

On the day of Pentecost, Peter addressed the Jews:
“Let it be known to the whole house of Israel, therefore, with certainty,
that God has made both Lord and Christ,
the One whom you crucified.”
When they heard this, they were deeply moved;
and they said to Peter and the other apostles:
“What shall we do, brothers?”
Peter replied to them:
“Repent;
and let each of you be baptised

And as she wept, she bent down towards the tomb
and saw, in the place where Jesus’ body had lain,
two angels dressed in white,
one at the head and one at the foot.
They said to her:
“Woman, why are you weeping?”
She replied:
“They have taken away my Lord,
and I do not know where they have laid Him.”
When she had said this, she turned around;
and saw Jesus standing there, but did not realise it was Jesus.
Jesus said to her:
“Woman, why are you weeping?
“Whom are you seeking?”
Thinking he was the gardener, she asked:
“Sir, if you have taken him away,
tell me where you have laid him,
so that I may take him away.”
Then Jesus said to her:
“Mary!”
She turned round and said to him in Hebrew:
“Rabboni!”
which means ‘Teacher’.

“Do not hold on to me,

On Care for Our Common Home

79. In this universe, which consists of interconnected open systems,
we can discover countless forms of relationship and participation.
This also leads us to think of the whole as open
to the transcendence of God, within which it develops.
Faith enables us to interpret the meaning and the mysterious beauty of what is happening.
Human freedom can make its intelligent contribution to a positive evolution,
but it can also add new evils, new causes of suffering and true regression.
This determines the exciting and dramatic history of humanity,
which reveals both a flowering of liberation, growth, salvation and love,
and apath of decline and mutual destruction. Therefore, the Church’s
action seeks not only to remind us of the duty to care for nature,
but at the same time “it must above all protect humanity from the destruction of itself”.

OPENINGSWOORD

Na veertig dagen van voorbereiding op Pasen,
zingen we nu vijftig dagen lang onze vreugde uit.
In de liturgie weerklinkt het “alleluia” frequenter en intenser.
De reden daartoe vernemen we uit de mond van de aposter Paulus:
‘God heeft Jezus ten leven opgewekt
na de strikken van de dood te hebben ontbonden’.
Dit mysterie van Gods liefde willen vieren
in verbondenheid met christenen wereldwijd,
vervuld van vreugde en dankbaarheid.

OVERWEGING

Na Pasen volgen we de eerste dertig jaren van onze Kerk. Vanaf haar geboorte in Jeruzalem over haar expansie naar Samaria en Syrië tot en met de missie-activiteiten van Paulus in het Midden-Oosten en Griekenland. Dat de uitbreiding van de Kerk zo’n hoge vlucht nam, danken we aan Gods Geest. Hij verenigde en bezielde de eerste christenen om met een onverwoestbaar geloof Jezus’ verrijzenis te verkondigen.  Hij stond op uit  de dood en Hij was bij hen, in hun midden. Deze verrijzenis is geen historisch feit waarvan we alleen plaats en datum moeten onthouden. Zij is eeuwigdurend mysterie, en daagt ook ons uit om christenen te zijn die durven getuigen. Hoe pak ik het aan om over zoiets als de verrijzenis te getuigen? Kan dat in mijn dagelijkse leven?

 

EERSTE LEZING             Hnd. 2, 14, 22-32

Deze Jezus heeft God doen verrijzen en daarvan zijn wij allen getuigen.

Uit de Handelingen van de Apostelen

Op Pinksteren trad Petrus naar voren met de elf
en verhief zijn stem om het woord tot hen te richten :
“Gij allen,
mannen van Israël,
luistert naar deze woorden :
Jezus de Nazoreeër was een man wiens zending tot u
van Godswege bekrachtigd is.
“Gij kent immers zelf de machtige daden, wonderen en tekenen
die God door Hem onder u heeft verricht.
“Hem,
die volgens Gods vastgestelde raadsbesluit
en voorkennis is uitgeleverd,
hebt gij door de hand van goddelozen
aan het kruis genageld en gedood.
“Maar God heeft Hem ten leven opgewekt
na de strikken van de dood te hebben ontbonden ;
want het was onmogelijk dat Hij daardoor werd vastgehouden.
“Doelend op Hem toch zegt David :

EVANGELIE             Mt. 28, 8-15

Gaat aan mijn broeders de boodschap brengen dat zij naar Galilea moeten gaan en daar zullen zij Mij zien.

Uit het heilig evangelie van onze Heer Jezus Christus volgens
Matteüs

In die tijd
gingen de vrouwen terstond weg van het graf
met vrees en grote vreugde,
en zij haastten zich
het nieuws aan zijn leerlingen over te brengen.
En zie, Jezus kwam hen tegemoet en zeide :
“Wees gegroet.”
Zij traden op Hem toe,
omklemden zijn voeten en aanbaden Hem.
Toen sprak Jezus tot hen :
“Weest niet bevreesd.
“Gaat aan mijn broeders de boodschap brengen
dat zij naar Galilea moeten gaan
en daar zullen zij Mij zien.”
Terwijl de vrouwen nog onderweg waren,
gingen enkelen van de bewakers naar de stad
en berichtten aan de hogepriesters
alles wat er was voorgevallen.
Deze hielden een bijeenkomst met de oudsten
en, na overleg, gaven ze aan de soldaten een flinke som geld
met de opdracht :
“Zegt maar :
Zijn leerlingen zijn Hem in de nacht komen stelen
terwijl wij sliepen.
“En mocht dit soms de landvoogd ter ore komen,
dan zullen wij hem wel kalmeren
en er voor zorgen dat gij geen last krijgt.”
Zij namen het geld aan en deden zoals hun voorgezegd was.
Dit verhaal is onder de Joden verder verteld
tot op de dag van vandaag.

Over de zorg voor het gemeenschappelijk huis

78. Tegelijkertijd heeft het joods-christelijke denken de natuur ontmythologiseerd.
Zonder op te houden haar te bewonderen om haar schittering
en onmetelijkheid heeft het haar geen goddelijk karakter toegeschreven.
Zo wordt nog eens onze verplichting ten opzichte van haar onderstreept.
Een terugkeer naar de natuur mag niet ten koste gaan van de vrijheid en
verantwoordelijkheid van de mens, die een deel is van de wereld met de
opdracht de eigen capaciteiten te gebruiken om haar te beschermen en de
mogelijkheden ervan te ontwikkelen. Als wij de waarde en de broosheid
van de natuur en tegelijkertijd de capaciteiten die de Schepper ons heeft
gegeven, erkennen, dan maakt dit het ons vandaag mogelijk een einde te
maken aan de moderne mythe van de onbegrensde materiële vooruitgang.
Een breekbare wereld met een mens aan wie God de zorg ervoor toevertrouwt,
doet een appel aan ons verstand om te erkennen hoe wij onze
macht zouden moeten sturen, uitoefenen en beperken.

¿Puedo pedirle que preste atención a la lectura diaria del Evangelio?

Esta invitación tiene por objeto hacerle partícipe de la alegría del Evangelio.
Todos, sin excepción,
pueden experimentar esa alegría abriendo su corazón
a la acción sanadora de la palabra de Dios.

PALABRAS DE APERTURA

Tras cuarenta días de preparación para la Pascua,
cantamos ahora nuestra alegría durante cincuenta días.
En la liturgia resuena el «aleluya» con mayor frecuencia e intensidad.
La razón de ello la escuchamos de boca del apóstol Pablo:
«Dios resucitó a Jesús a la vida,
después de haber desatado las ataduras de la muerte».
Queremos celebrar este misterio del amor de Dios
en comunión con los cristianos de todo el mundo,
llenos de alegría y gratitud.

Consideración

Tras la Pascua, recorremos los primeros treinta años de nuestra Iglesia. Desde su nacimiento en Jerusalén, pasando por su expansión hacia Samaria y Siria, hasta las actividades misioneras de Pablo en Oriente Medio y Grecia. Que la expansión de la Iglesia cobrara tal impulso, lo debemos al Espíritu de Dios. Él unió e inspiró a los primeros cristianos para que anunciaran la resurrección de Jesús con una fe inquebrantable.  Él resucitó de entre los muertos y estaba con ellos, en medio de ellos. Esta resurrección no es un hecho histórico del que solo debamos recordar el lugar y la fecha. Es un misterio eterno, y nos desafía también a nosotros a ser cristianos que se atreven a dar testimonio. ¿Cómo puedo abordar el dar testimonio de algo como la resurrección? ¿Es posible hacerlo en mi vida cotidiana?

PRIMERA LECTURA            Hch 2, 14, 22-32

A este Jesús, Dios lo resucitó, y de ello todos nosotros somos testigos.

De los Hechos de los Apóstoles

En Pentecostés, Pedro se adelantó con los once
y alzó la voz para dirigirse a ellos:
«Todos vosotros,
hombres de Israel,
escuchad estas palabras:
Jesús el Nazareno fue un hombre cuya misión entre vosotros
fue confirmada por Dios.
«Vosotros mismos conocéis, en efecto, los poderosos hechos, los milagros y los signos
que Dios ha realizado entre vosotros por medio de Él.
«A Él,
que fue entregado según el consejo y el designio predeterminados de Dios,
lo clavasteis en la cruz y lo matasteis
por mano de los impíos.

Y he aquí que Jesús salió a su encuentro y les dijo:
«Salve».
Se acercaron a Él,
algunos de los guardias se dirigieron a la ciudad
y comunicaron a los sumos sacerdotes
todo lo que había sucedido.
Estos se reunieron con los ancianos
y, tras deliberar, entregaron a los soldados una cuantiosa suma de dinero
con la orden:
«Decid:
Sus discípulos vinieron a robarlo durante la noche
mientras dormíamos.
«Y si por casualidad esto llegara a oídos del gobernador,
nosotros lo tranquilizaremos
y nos aseguraremos de que no tengáis ningún problema».
Ellos aceptaron el dinero e hicieron tal como se les había dicho.
Esta historia se ha transmitido entre los judíos
hasta el día de hoy.

Sobre el cuidado de la casa común

78. Al mismo tiempo, el pensamiento judeocristiano ha desmitificado la naturaleza.
Sin dejar de admirarla por su esplendor
y su inmensidad, no le ha atribuido un carácter divino.
De este modo, se subraya una vez más nuestra obligación para con ella.
El retorno a la naturaleza no debe ir en detrimento de la libertad y la
responsabilidad del ser humano, que forma parte del mundo con la
misión de utilizar sus propias capacidades para protegerla y desarrollar
sus posibilidades. Si reconocemos el valor y la fragilidad de la naturaleza y,
al mismo tiempo, las capacidades que el Creador nos ha dado,
esto nos permite hoy poner fin al mito moderno del progreso material ilimitado.
Un mundo frágil, al cuidado del cual Dios ha confiado al ser humano,
nos exhorta a reconocer cómo debemos dirigir, ejercer y limitar nuestro poder.

Introduction

After forty days of preparation for Easter,
we now sing of our joy for fifty days.
In the liturgy, the ‘Alleluia’ resounds more frequently and intensely.
We learn the reason for this from the words of the Apostle Paul:
‘God raised Jesus to life,
having broken the bonds of death’.
We wish to celebrate this mystery of God’s love
in communion with Christians worldwide,
filled with joy and gratitude.

Consideration

After Easter, we trace the first thirty years of our Church. From its birth in Jerusalem, through its expansion into Samaria and Syria, right up to Paul’s missionary activities in the Middle East and Greece. We owe the rapid growth of the Church to God’s Spirit. He united and inspired the first Christians to proclaim Jesus’ resurrection with an unshakeable faith.  He rose from the dead and He was with them, in their midst. This Resurrection is not merely a historical fact whose place and date we must simply remember. It is an eternal mystery, and it challenges us too to be Christians who dare to bear witness. How do I go about bearing witness to something like the Resurrection? Is that possible in my daily life?

FIRST READING             Acts 2, 14, 22–32

God raised this Jesus, and we are all witnesses to that.

From the Acts of the Apostles

On the day of Pentecost, Peter stood up with the eleven,
and raised his voice to address them:
“You all,
men of Israel,
listen to these words:
Jesus of Nazareth was a man whose mission to you
was confirmed by God.
“For you yourselves know the mighty deeds, wonders and signs
which God performed through Him among you.
“Him,
who was delivered up according to God’s predetermined plan
and foreknowledge,
you, by the hand of lawless men,
nailed to the cross and killed.
“But God raised Him to life,
having loosed the bonds of death;
for it was impossible for Him to be held by them.

Tell us, Mary,
what is it that you have seen?
Christ’s tomb that was empty,
the glory of Him who has risen,
angels as witnesses,
the sweat cloth and the shroud.

Behold, He goes before you to Galilee.

GOSPEL               Mt. 28, 8-15

Go and tell my brothers that they must go to Galilee, and there they will see Me.

From the Holy Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ according to
Matthew;

At that time,
the women left the tomb at once,
filled with fear and great joy,
and they hurried
to bring the news to his disciples.
And behold, Jesus met them and said:
“Greetings.”
They approached Him,
clasped His feet and worshipped Him.
Then Jesus spoke to them:
“Do not be afraid.
“Go and tell my brothers
that they must go to Galilee,
and there they will see Me.”
Whilst the women were still on their way,
some of the guards went into the city
and reported to the chief priests
everything that had happened.
They held a meeting with the elders;
and, after deliberation, they gave the soldiers a large sum of money;
with the instruction:
“Say:
His disciples came to steal Him away in the night;
whilst we were asleep.
“And should this come to the governor’s ears,
we will set him at ease
and ensure that you face no trouble.”
They took the money and did as they had been told.
This story has been passed down amongst the Jews
to this very day.

On Care for Our Common Home

78. At the same time, Judeo-Christian thought has demythologised nature.
Whilst continuing to admire it for its splendour
and immensity, it has not attributed a divine character to it.
This serves to underline once again our duty towards it.
A return to nature must not be at the expense of the freedom and
responsibility of human beings, who are part of the world with the
task of using their own capacities to protect it and to
develop its potential. If we recognise the value and fragility
of nature and, at the same time, the capacities that the Creator has given us,
this enables us today to put an end to the modern myth of unlimited material progress.
A fragile world entrusted by God to human care,
appeals to our reason to recognise how we ought to
direct, exercise and limit our power.
