Consideración

Hoy leemos uno de los textos más bellos de Oseas. Oseas denuncia el culto a los ídolos y lo compara con la infidelidad de Israel hacia Dios. Sin embargo, él es el profeta del amor fiel de Dios. Su amor nunca falla. Él espera el regreso. Él es Dios y no un ser humano. Su amor es mayor que cualquier infidelidad. Esta página habla de un amor tierno que nunca desvanece. «Protege lo que tu propia mano ha plantado», dice el Salmo 80 a modo de eco. El Antiguo Testamento se une aquí por un instante con el Nuevo. Un padre que espera a que regrese el hijo perdido. Un novio que espera a su novia. Dios que espera a Israel.

Del profeta Oseas

Así dice el Señor:
«Cuando Israel era aún joven, lo amé;
y de Egipto llamé a mi hijo.
«Fui yo

que era yo quien lo protegía.

Sobre el cuidado de la casa común, del Papa Francisco

171. La estrategia de compra y venta de certificados de emisión
puede dar lugar a una nueva forma de especulación y no es
propicia para reducir las emisiones mundiales de gases contaminantes.
Este sistema parece una solución rápida y fácil,
que da la impresión de un cierto compromiso con el medio ambiente,
pero no supone en absoluto un cambio radical acorde con las circunstancias actuales. Por el contrario, puede convertirse en un artificio que permita sustentar el superconsumo de algunos países y sectores.

Consideration

Today we read from one of the most beautiful passages in Hosea. Hosea denounces idolatry and compares it to adultery, committed by Israel against God. Yet he is the prophet of God’s faithful love. His love never fails. He waits for their return. He is God, not a human being. His love is greater than any unfaithfulness. This passage speaks of a tender love that never wavers. ‘Protect what your own hand has planted,’ echoes Psalm 80. Here, the Old Testament briefly touches upon the New. A father standing watch until the prodigal son returns. A bridegroom waiting for his bride. God waiting for Israel.

FIRST READING                           Hos. 11:1, 3–4, 8c–9

Thus says the Lord:
“When Israel was still a child, I loved him;
and out of Egypt I called my son.
“It was I
who taught Ephraim to walk;

On the Care of Our Common Home by Pope Francis

171. The strategy of buying and selling emission or emissions certificates
may give rise to a new form of speculation and is not
conducive to reducing global emissions of polluting gases.
This system appears to be a quick and easy solution,
giving the impression of a certain commitment to the environment,
but it is by no means a radical change commensurate with
current circumstances. On the contrary, it risks becoming a ploy that
serves to prop up the excessive consumption of certain countries and sectors.

Overweging

Het Evangelie werd niet geschreven om onze nieuwsgierigheid te bevredigen. Christus heeft aan iedereen de opdracht gegeven zijn boodschap te verkondigen, het kwade te bestrijden en het goede te doen. Niemand moet zich van die taak ontslagen weten omdat hij te klein, of te ongeletterd, of te verlegen is. Jezus heeft ook niet gezocht naar twaalf uitmuntende intellectuelen. Hij heeft in de eerste plaats gezocht naar mensen die bereid waren Hem te volgen, die in staat waren om tot het einde toe vriend en leerling te zijn van de Heer. Ook wij hebben die zending gekregen. Wat doen we ermee?

EERSTE LEZING                    Hos. 10, 1-3. 7-8.12
Nu is het tijd om de Heer te zoeken.

Van de profeet Hosea

Israël is een weelderige wijnstok
die ook weelderige vruchten draagt.
En hoe talrijker deze vruchten zijn ,
hoe talrijker Israël haar altaren maakt.
Hoe mooier haar land is
hoe mooier zij haar treurstenen versiert.
Omdat ze zo dubbelhartig zijn ,
zullen ze nu boeten voor hun schuld.
De Heer Zelf geeft hun altaren de genadeslag
En breekt de stenen van wijsheid.
Ja, dan zullen we zeggen:
“Wij hebben geen koning,
Want als we de Heer niet vrezen
Wat hebben wij aan een koning?”
Samaria is tot zwijgen gebracht,
haar koning is als een gebroken tak
drijvend op het water.
De hoogten van de gruwel – die zonde van Israël – zijn vernietigd.
Zijn vernietigd.
Doornen en distels overwoekeren hun altaren.
Dan roepen ze tot de bergen: “Dek ons!
en tot de heuvels: “Val op ons!”.
Zaai gerechtigheid ,
en je zult het goede oogsten;
Herwin het braakliggende land.
Nu is de tijd om de Heer te zoeken,
totdat Hij komt en gerechtigheid over jullie laat regenen.

TUSSENZANG           Psalm 105(104), 2-3, 4-5, 6-7

Zoek altijd het aangezicht van de Heer.

Zing voor Hem en sla de akkoorden voor Hem aan,
Vertel van al zijn wonderbaarlijke werken.
Verhef de heilige naam van de Heer,
Verheugt u, gij die Hem volgt.

Blijf in Hem, in Zijn machtige arm,
Zoek altijd Zijn aangezicht.
Vergeet nooit de wonderen die Hij deed,
Zijn tekenen en Zijn beloften.

U, de nakomelingen van zijn dienaar Abraham,
kinderen van Jakob, zijn geliefden.
De Heer, Hij is onze enige God,
wat Hij verordent geldt voor de hele aarde.

Uit het heilige evangelie van onze Heer Jezus Christus volgens
Mattheüs

In die tijd riep Jezus zijn twaalf discipelen bij zich
en gaf hun de macht
om onreine geesten uit te drijven
en alle ziekten en gebreken te genezen.
Dit zijn de namen van de 12 apostelen:
Eerst: Simon, Petrus genaamd
met zijn broer Andreas;
Jakobus, zoon van Zebedeüs, met zijn broer Johannes;
Filippus en Bartholomeüs,
Thomas en Mattheüs, de tollenaar,
Jakobus, de zoon van Alfeüs,
Thaddaeus, Simon de Zeloot
en Judas Iskariot, die Hem verraadde.
Deze 12 stuurden Jezus met de opdracht :
“Ga niet tussen de heidenen
en ga niet in een stad van de Samaritanen ;

Over de zorg voor het gemeenschappelijke huis

170. Enkele van de strategieën voor een lage uitstoot van vervuilende
gassen zijn gericht op de internationalisering van de kosten voor het
milieu, met het risico de landen met minder hulpbronnen zware verplichtingen,
gelijk aan die van de meest geïndustrialiseerde landen, op te
leggen. Het opleggen van deze maatregelen dupeert de landen die het
meest behoefte hebben aan ontwikkeling. Op deze wijze wordt er een
nieuwe ongerechtigheid toegevoegd onder het mom van de zorg voor het
milieu. Ook in dit geval komt men van de regen in de drup. Daar de
effecten van de klimaatverandering zich gedurende lange tijd zullen doen
voelen, ook al zou men nu rigoureuze maatregelen nemen, dan zullen
sommige landen met schaarse hulpbronnen hulp nodig hebben om zich
aan te passen aan de effecten die reeds zichtbaar worden en hun economieën treffen. Het blijft zeker dat er gemeenschappelijke, maar gedifferentieerde verantwoordelijkheden zijn, eenvoudigweg omdat, zoals de
bisschoppen van Bolivia hebben gezegd, “de landen die ten koste van een
enorme uitstoot van broeikasgas baat hebben gehad bij een hoog niveau
van industrialisering, een grotere verantwoordelijkheid hebben om bij te
dragen aan de oplossing van de problemen die zij hebben veroorzaakt”

El Evangelio no se escribió para satisfacer nuestra curiosidad. Cristo ha encomendado a todos que anuncien su mensaje, combatan el mal y hagan el bien. Nadie debe considerarse exento de esa tarea por ser demasiado pequeño, analfabeto o tímido. Jesús tampoco buscó a doce intelectuales destacados. Buscó, ante todo, a personas dispuestas a seguirle, capaces de ser amigos y discípulos del Señor hasta el final. También nosotros hemos recibido esa misión. ¿Qué hacemos con ella?

PRIMERA LECTURA                    Os. 10, 1-3. 7-8.12
Ahora es el momento de buscar al Señor.

Del profeta Oseas

Israel es una vid frondosa
que da frutos abundantes.
Y cuanto más abundantes son estos frutos,
más altares erige Israel.
Cuanto más hermosa es su tierra,
más bellas son las lápidas que adorna.
Como son tan hipócritas,
ahora pagarán por su culpa.
El Señor mismo asesta el golpe de gracia a sus altares
y rompe las piedras de la sabiduría.
Sí, entonces diremos:
«No tenemos rey,
pues si no tememos al Señor,
¿de qué nos sirve un rey?»
Samaria ha sido reducida al silencio,
su rey es como una rama rota
que flota sobre el agua.
Las alturas de la abominación —ese pecado de Israel— han sido destruidas.
Han sido destruidas.
Las espinas y los cardos invaden sus altares.
Entonces claman a las montañas: «¡Protegednos!»,
y a las colinas: «¡Caed sobre nosotros!».
Siembra justicia,
y cosecharás lo bueno;
recupera la tierra en barbecho.
Ahora es el momento de buscar al Señor,
hasta que Él venga y haga llover justicia sobre vosotros.

Sobre el cuidado de la casa común

170. Algunas de las estrategias para reducir las emisiones de gases contaminantes
se centran en la internacionalización de los costes medioambientales,
con el riesgo de imponer a los países con menos recursos obligaciones gravosas,
equivalentes a las de los países más industrializados. La imposición de estas medidas
perjudica a los países que más necesitan desarrollarse. De este modo, se añade una
nueva injusticia bajo el pretexto del cuidado del
medio ambiente. También en este caso se pasa de mal en peor. Dado que los
efectos del cambio climático se dejarán sentir durante mucho tiempo,
aunque ahora se adoptaran medidas rigurosas,
algunos países con recursos escasos necesitarán ayuda para adaptarse a los efectos
que ya se están haciendo visibles y que afectan a sus economías.
Lo cierto es que existen responsabilidades comunes, pero diferenciadas,
sencillamente porque, como han dicho los
han dicho los obispos de Bolivia, «los países que, a costa de una
enorme emisión de gases de efecto invernadero, se han beneficiado de un alto nivel
de industrialización, tienen una mayor responsabilidad a la hora de contribuir
a la solución de los problemas que han causado»

The Gospel was not written to satisfy our curiosity. Christ has commissioned everyone to proclaim his message, to fight against evil and to do good. No one should consider themselves exempt from this task because they are too young, too uneducated or too shy. Nor did Jesus seek out twelve outstanding intellectuals. He sought, first and foremost, people who were willing to follow Him, who were capable of being the Lord’s friend and disciple to the very end. We, too, have been given that mission. What are we doing with it?

FIRST READING                  Hos. 10:1–3, 7–8, 12
Now is the time to seek the Lord.

From the prophet Hosea

Israel is a luxuriant vine
which also bears luxuriant fruit.
And the more abundant these fruits are,
the more altars Israel erects.
The more beautiful her land is,
the more beautifully she adorns her memorial stones.
Because they are so double-hearted,
they shall now pay for their guilt.
The Lord Himself deals the final blow to their altars
And shatters the stones of wisdom.
Yes, then we shall say:
‘We have no king,
For if we do not fear the Lord,
What use is a king to us?’
Samaria has been silenced,
her king is like a broken branch
floating on the water.
The high places of abomination – that sin of Israel – have been destroyed.

On Care for Our Common Home

170. Some of the strategies for reducing emissions of polluting gases
are aimed at internationalising the costs to the
environment, with the risk of imposing on countries with fewer resources heavy obligations,
equivalent to those of the most industrialised countries. Imposing these measures penalises
the countries that are most in need of development. In this way, a new injustice is added
under the guise of care for the environment. In this case too, it is a case of going from bad to worse.
Since the effects of climate change will be felt over a long period of time,
even if rigorous measures were to be taken now,
some countries with scarce resources will need assistance to adapt to the effects
that are already becoming apparent and affecting their economies.
It remains certain that there are common but differentiated responsibilities,
simply because, as the bishops of Bolivia have said, “the countries that have benefited
from a high level of industrialisation at the cost of an
enormous amount of greenhouse gas emissions have a greater responsibility to contribute to
resolving the problems they have caused”

Overweging

Hosea kent zijn gewijde geschiedenis: Egypte, uittocht, Sinaï, woestijn en beloofde land. Hij staat helemaal in de traditie van het Verbond. Dit verbond met Jahweh is een speciale relatie, maar tussen ongelijke partners. Gos is de suzerein, Israël de vazal. Wanneer Israël ontrouw wordt en vreemde goden eert, dan verraadt de vazal zijn heer, en moet het mis lopen. Psalm 115 drijft de spot met die goden door mensenhanden vervaardigd.

EERSTE LEZING      Hos. 8, 4-7.11-13
Zij zaaien wind, maar storm zullen zij oogsten.

Uit de Profeet Hosea

Zo spreekt de Heer :
“De kinderen van Israël hebben koningen aangesteld,
maar buiten Mij om;
zij hebben zich leiders gekozen,
maar buiten mijn weten.
“Van hun zilver en goud maakten zij afgodsbeelden,
goed om stukgeslagen te worden.
“Verwijder toch uw stierenbeeld, Samaria!

“Ja, die afgod komt uit Israël,

de halmen waar geen groei in zit

Uit het heilig evangelie van onze heer Jezus Christus volgens
Matteüs

In die tijd bracht men Jezus een stomme
die door de duivel bezeten was.
Zodra de duivel was uitgedreven begon de stomme te spreken.
De mensen zeiden vol verbazing:
“Nog nooit heeft men in Israël zo iets gezien”.
Maar de Farizeeën zeiden:
“De vorst der duivels stelt Hem in staat
de duivels uit te drijven.”

Jezus ging rond door alle steden en dorpen,
waar hij onderricht gaf in hun synagogen
en de Blijde Boodschap verkondigde van het Koninkrijk
en alle ziekten en kwalen genas.
Bij het zien van die menigte mensen
werd Hij door medelijden bewogen,
omdat ze afgetobd neerlagen
als schapen zonder herder.
Toen sprak Hij tot zijn leerlingen:
“De oogst is wel groot
maar arbeiders zijn er weinig.
“Vraagt daarom de Heer van de oogst

Consideración
Oseas conoce su historia sagrada: Egipto, la salida, el Sinaí, el desierto y la tierra prometida. Se inscribe plenamente en la tradición de la Alianza. Esta Alianza con Yahvé es una relación especial, pero entre socios desiguales. Josué es el soberano, Israel el vasallo. Cuando Israel se vuelve infiel y adora primero a dioses extranjeros, el vasallo traiciona a su señor, y las cosas tienen que salir mal. El Salmo 115 se burla de esos dioses fabricados por manos humanas.

Consideration
Hosea is familiar with his sacred history: Egypt, the Exodus, Sinai, the desert and the Promised Land. He stands firmly within the tradition of the Covenant. This Covenant with Yahweh is a special relationship, but one between unequal partners. Yahweh is the suzerain, Israel the vassal. When Israel becomes unfaithful and turns to foreign gods, the vassal betrays his lord, and things are bound to go wrong. Psalm 115 mocks those gods made by human hands.

FIRST READING                  Hos . 8:4–7, 11–13
They sow the wind, but they shall reap the whirlwind.

From the Prophet Hosea

Thus says the Lord:
“The children of Israel have appointed kings,
but without Me;
they have chosen leaders for themselves,
but without my knowledge.

Jesus went about through all the towns and villages,

Overweging 

Chronologisch volgt Hosea op Amos. Hij is zijn jongere bondgenoot, ook werkend in het Noordrijk. Maar zijn beelden zijn heel anders dan die van Amos. Hij drukt de ontrouw van het volk aan Jaweh uit in de categorieën van huwelijksontrouw en echtbreuk. Dit was echter niet zo ver gezocht want de Kananese godsdienst werd sterk bepaald door seksualiteit en vruchtbaarheidsriten. Tegelijk spreekt Hosea over blijvende liefde ondanks ontrouw. Daarvan hebben we vandaag een voorbeeld.

EERSTE LEZING            Hos. 2, 16.17b-18.21-22
Ik neem u als mijn bruid, voor altijd.

Uit de Profeet Hosea

Zo spreekt de Heer :
“Mijn ontrouwe bruid,
weldra lok Ik haar weer naar Mij toe,
zorg Ik dat zij naar de woestijn gaat

Terwijl Jezus eens tot de menigte sprak
kwam er een overste naar Hem toe,
wierp zich voor Hem neer en zei :
“Mijn dochter is zo juist gestorven :
maar kom haar de hand opleggen
dan zal zij weer levend worden”
Jezus stond op en ging met hem mee,
vergezeld van zijn leerlingen.
Plotseling naderde Hem van achteren een vrouw
die al twaalf jaar lang aan bloedvloeiingen leed,
en raakte de zoom van zijn mantel aan.
Want ze zei bij zichzelf :
“Als ik alleen maar zijn mantel kan aanraken
zal ik genezen zijn.”
Maar Jezus keerde zich om,
en toen Hij haar zag sprak Hij :
“Heb goede moed dochter,
uw geloof heeft u genezen.”
En vanaf dat ogenblik was de vrouw gezond.
Toen Jezus in het huis van de overste kwam
en de fluitspelers en het misbaar makende volk zag
sprak Hij:
“Gaat heen,
want het meisje is niet gestorven maar slaapt.”
Doch ze lachten Hem uit.
Toen al dat volk buitengezet was,
trad Hij naderbij,
greep haar hand
en het meisje stond op.
Het verhaal hiervan deed de ronde door heel die streek.

Over de zorg voor het gemeenschappelijke huis

168. Onder de positieve ervaringen kan bijvoorbeeld de Conventie van
Bazel over gevaarlijk afval met een meldingssysteem, vastgestelde niveaus
en controles worden vermeld, evenals het verplichtende verdrag over de
internationale handel in met uitsterven bedreigde wilde dier- en plantensoorten,
dat voorziet in het sturen van delegaties ter controle van een
daadwerkelijke uitvoering. Dankzij de Conventie van Wenen voor de
bescherming van de ozonlaag en de uitvoering ervan door het Protocol
van Montreal en de amendementen hierop, lijkt het probleem van het
dunner worden van deze laag tot een oplossing te zijn gekomen.

Consideración

Cronológicamente, Oseas sigue a Amós. Es su aliado más joven, que también ejerció su ministerio en el Reino del Norte. Pero sus imágenes son muy diferentes a las de Amós. Expresa la infidelidad del pueblo hacia Yahvé en los términos de la infidelidad conyugal y el adulterio. Sin embargo, esto no era tan descabellado, ya que la religión cananea estaba fuertemente marcada por la sexualidad y los ritos de fertilidad. Al mismo tiempo, Oseas habla del amor perdurable a pesar de la infidelidad. Hoy tenemos un ejemplo de ello .

Mientras Jesús hablaba a la multitud,
se le acercó un jefe,
se postró ante Él y le dijo:
«Mi hija acaba de morir:
pero ven y ponle las manos encima,
y volverá a la vida».
Jesús se levantó y lo acompañó,
junto con sus discípulos.
De repente, se le acercó por detrás una mujer
que llevaba doce años padeciendo hemorragias,
y tocó el borde de su manto.
Porque se decía a sí misma:
«Si tan solo pudiera tocar su manto,
quedaría curada».
Pero Jesús se volvió,
y al verla le dijo:
«Ánimo, hija,
tu fe te ha curado».
Y desde ese mismo instante la mujer quedó sana.
Cuando Jesús entró en la casa del jefe de la sinagoga
y vio a los flautistas y a la multitud que armaba jaleo,
dijo:
«Marchaos,
porque la niña no ha muerto, sino que duerme».
Pero se rieron de Él.
Cuando toda aquella gente hubo salido,
Él se acercó,
le tomó de la mano
y la niña se levantó.
La noticia de esto se difundió por toda aquella región.

Sobre el cuidado de la casa común

168. Entre las experiencias positivas cabe citar, por ejemplo, el Convenio de
Basilea sobre residuos peligrosos, que cuenta con un sistema de notificación, niveles establecidos
y controles, así como la Convención sobre el
comercio internacional de especies de fauna y flora silvestres amenazadas de extinción,
que prevé el envío de delegaciones para supervisar su
aplicación efectiva. Gracias al Convenio de Viena para la
protección de la capa de ozono y a su aplicación mediante el Protocolo
de Montreal y sus enmiendas, parece que el problema del
adelgazamiento de esta capa ha encontrado una solución.
